Meet Luis Solo

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Luis Solo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Luis, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

To keep your creativity alive, rather than listening to thousands of people on social media, you must learn to listen to yourself. Personally, in the world of films and TV series, my creativity is always guided by my own tastes, thoughts, and ideas. I don’t talk about the latest releases just because everyone else does; I prefer to do so only when they genuinely excite me or when I feel a real connection to the story. I believe true creativity comes from being honest with yourself, not from following trends out of obligation.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Tano Tales is a media platform specialized in film and television, created by Luis Solo, that combines news, analysis, opinions, and interviews to offer a close, passionate, and up-to-date perspective on the audiovisual world. With a direct and authentic style, it connects conversations between fans, creators, and the industry, producing content that informs, entertains, and creates space for analysis.

Its work ranges from coverage and news of upcoming releases to conversations with figures from the industry, establishing it as a fresh and accessible voice within the film-loving community.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I have learned to analyze and communicate ideas clearly and approachably, aiming to make content accessible and to encourage conversation. Over time, editing has become a key part of my creative process—not just as a technical tool, but as a means to tell stories and give rhythm to ideas.

My goal is to achieve clarity, dynamism, and visual coherence, which has led me to pay close attention to timing, cuts, and the structure of content, ensuring that the message comes across naturally and smoothly. Editing has become a space for constant learning, where experimenting, making mistakes, and adjusting are essential steps to keep improving and developing a personal style.

Additionally, I have come to deeply value creating a healthy space or community, where dialogue is as important as information, fostering an environment of respect and participation.

My advice for anyone who wants to grow and improve is to focus on consistent practice and reflecting on what they do. There is no path without trial and error: every attempt, success, or mistake is an opportunity to learn and adjust. Staying curious, listening to others, and being open to new experiences helps to discover strengths, improve skills, and find more effective ways to move forward. Consistency, flexibility, and a willingness to learn are the foundation of any progress.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

Although there were some challenges in my home, the best thing my parents gave me was that I never lacked anything. They always did everything possible to provide me with what I needed and even what I wanted, both materially and in small pleasures. That dedication made me feel cared for and safe, and it taught me, indirectly, the value of hard work and the importance of giving your best to those you love.
