Meet Trevor Perkins

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trevor Perkins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Trevor , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

Growing up, my grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Perkins, were incredibly involved in our community. Whether it was helping neighbors, showing up for local events, or quietly giving their time and resources to people in need, they were always present. Watching that as a kid really opened my eyes to what giving back actually looks like in practice. It wasn’t for the looks; it was just who they were. I think my sense of generosity comes directly from them. They taught me that if you’re fortunate enough to have something to give, time, energy, resources, you have a responsibility to use it to make the people and places around you better.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m the founder of PERK PR + Creative Agency, a boutique public relations and creative firm focused on helping artists, creators, and brands tell their stories in a clear, authentic, and impactful way. My work centers on PR strategy, media relations, brand development, and creative campaigns, primarily within music, entertainment, and culture.

What I find most exciting about what I do is the opportunity to work closely with independent voices and help them build something sustainable and meaningful. PERK is very relationship-driven, and I’m intentional about working with people who care deeply about their craft and their message. It’s not just about short-term wins, it’s about long-term growth, credibility, and connection.

Right now, I’m especially focused on growing PERK in ways that feel community-oriented and collaborative. One example of that is a quarterly panel series we host in partnership with Ampersand Studios, designed to bring artists and industry professionals together for honest conversations, education, and connection.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple, to help people feel confident in their story and supported as they continue to build their careers and brands.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three things that have been most impactful in my journey are relationship-building, adaptability, and a strong sense of integrity.

First, relationships. Everything I’ve built has come from genuine connections and trust. Showing up consistently, being reliable, and treating people with respect goes a long way. My advice for anyone early in their journey is to focus on building real relationships, not transactional ones. Be curious, listen more than you talk, and don’t underestimate the power of following through.

Second, adaptability. This industry is constantly changing, and being willing to evolve has been critical. Early on, I learned that you don’t need to have everything figured out, you just need to be open to learning and adjusting as you go. For those just starting out, stay flexible, pay attention to what’s working and what’s not, and don’t be afraid to pivot when something no longer aligns.

Lastly, integrity. Your reputation is everything. Doing what you say you’re going to do, being honest, and operating with transparency has shaped how people view and trust me. My advice here is simple, protect your name. Short-term wins aren’t worth long-term damage, and consistency in how you treat people will always matter more than titles or clout.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely, we’re always growing at PERK, and collaboration is a huge part of how we operate. I’m always interested in partnering with people who are thoughtful, driven, and genuinely passionate about what they do. That could be artists, creators, brands, fellow publicists, creatives, or anyone who values collaboration, integrity, and long-term vision.

The best partnerships are built on alignment, shared values, and mutual respect. I’m especially drawn to folks who are community-minded, open to ideas, and interested in building something meaningful rather than chasing quick wins.

If someone reading this is interested in collaborating, the best way to connect is to reach out through PERK PR + Creative Agency directly, whether that’s via email, social media, or through a mutual connection. I’m always open to conversations and exploring how we can grow and create together.
