Meet Jessica Hall

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jessica Hall. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jessica below.

Jessica , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

So for me, purpose isn’t something I discover once and hold onto forever. It’s something I keep uncovering as I grow … as a woman, as a mother, and as a mentor.
Every season of my life has revealed a new layer of who I am and what I’m meant to give. Some of those layers came from beautiful moments, and some came from really hard ones that forced me to stretch, rebuild, or rise in ways I didn’t expect.
What I’ve realized is that purpose becomes clearer every time I show up with intention, with love, and with the courage to pour into others even when I’m still figuring things out myself.
It’s in those moments … the teaching, the connection, the impact, the honesty ….. that I feel most aligned. And that alignment is what keeps guiding me forward, helping me uncover my purpose piece by piece.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My story has always been rooted in movement …. not just dance, but the movement that happens inside a person when they’re believed in, challenged, and supported.

I’m a dance educator, choreographer, and a mom, and each of those roles has shaped how I show up.

What I do goes far beyond teaching steps. I help dancers build confidence, grit, and emotional strength. I help them find their voice, their worth, and their ability to rise ….. not just on stage, but in life. Watching a dancer transform from unsure to unstoppable is the part of my work that fuels me every single day. That’s what makes my career feel so special. It’s not just the art; it’s the impact.

My brand is centered around creating a space where dancers feel seen, safe, and capable. I believe in discipline, hard work, and honesty, but also in compassion and connection. I want dancers to feel supported through the hard days and celebrated on the great ones. The environment I create is intentional: it’s structured, it’s loving, and it’s built with the goal of helping every dancer rise into the best version of who they can be.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding the strength and conditioning element of my training, developing tools that help dancers build healthier, stronger bodies that can support the intensity of their craft. I’m also working on new resources for parents — ways they can stay involved, understand the process, and feel connected to their child’s journey.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

When I look back at my journey, the three most impactful things weren’t titles or achievements … they were qualities I had to grow into over time.

The first was grit and resilience.
Dance taught me early on that progress isn’t linear. There are setbacks, doubts, and moments where quitting feels easier. What carried me through was learning how to stay committed even when things were uncomfortable. For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to stop seeing hard moments as signs you’re failing …. they’re signs you’re building strength. Stay in it. The hard seasons shape you.

The second was body awareness and foundational training.
Understanding how the body works …. strength, alignment, conditioning, and injury prevention … changed everything for me. Once I stopped trying to force movement and started supporting it with proper training, my dancing and teaching elevated. For those just starting out, invest in your foundation. Strength training, conditioning, and body awareness aren’t optional …. they’re what allow you to dance longer, stronger, and safer.

The third was emotional intelligence and connection.
Learning how to truly see people …. students, collaborators, and myself …. transformed my career.
Dance is technical, but it’s also deeply human. Connection builds trust, confidence, and artistry. My advice is to listen more than you speak, stay curious, and lead with empathy. The ability to connect will take you further than talent alone ever could.

Those three things … grit, strong foundations, and emotional awareness always continue to guide me. They’ve shaped not just how I dance or teach, but how I lead, parent, and show up in the world. If you commit to developing those qualities early, you won’t just grow in your craft … you’ll grow as a person.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

If I knew I only had a decade left, I would spend it truly living …. not rushing, not waiting, and not putting things off for ‘someday.’ I would travel, experience new places, and create memories that stay with the people I love long after I’m gone.

I would slow down enough to be present, to laugh more, and to soak in the ordinary moments that actually end up meaning the most. I’d pour into my family, my children, and the people who matter most to me … choosing connection over busyness.

Professionally, I’d continue to do the work that feels aligned with my heart: teaching, mentoring, and creating spaces where dancers feel strong, seen, and capable. I’d focus less on perfection and more on impact …. leaving people better, more confident, and more supported because our paths crossed.

Ultimately, that decade would be about living fully, loving deeply, and making sure my time …. and my energy … were spent on what truly matters.
