Meet Rain B.

We recently connected with Rain B. and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Rain, really appreciate you joining us to talk about a really relevant, albeit unfortunate topic – layoffs and getting fired. Can you talk to us about your experience and how you overcame being let go?

It is funny that this question was asked. I lost my job in March of this year out of nowhere. I had been with the company going on 8 years and I really felt that I was going to work there forever. I loved my job and the people around me. I was comfortable and content, but then one day it was just taken from me with an excuse of “organizational changes, and your service is no longer needed”. I was devastated, hurt, confused and even a bit angry. I didn’t understand why, I had poured a lot into that company and was left to feel that none of that ever mattered. Although, my faith in Jesus is what got me through, it is how I overcame being laid off from a job of almost 8 years. He had been preparing me prior to me losing my job. He gave me peace in the midst of such an unexpected and confusing time. He continued to bless me in ways where I did not lack or lose anything after no longer having a steady income. It was through Him that I was able to overcome and still have joy and contentment in my circumstance.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Well first I am a mother of a sweet 3 year old daughter named Taliyah! She is my whole world and I so grateful to be her mommy. I am also a faith based content creator. I love to vlog my life and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through my daily life. I truly enjoy vlogging and to me it is a place where I can truly be free and myself. I have a small following on Youtube where I am hoping and praying that it will continue to grow and have a positive impact all over the world.

I am currently pursuing a degree in Psychology, where I am inspiring to be a clinical therapist one day. I love listening to people and trying to help them figure things out. I am a girls girl, I love the guys too but I really feel I want to help women through difficult and tough times in their life. I want to be the listening ear for women in need in every aspect of life. I have a little ways to go with my schooling, but I know through God I will be able to get it done and at the right time it will happen.

Lastly but definitely not least, I am the founder of a new women’s ministry called “Daughters of the King Ministries.” This is a faith based women’s ministry where girls can just be girls and love Jesus at the same time. I write devotionals and blogs based on my life experiences to help uplift and encourage women of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities. All are welcomed.

What I have going on in my life during this season is what is keeping me going. I find joy and peace in all that I am doing which is confirmation to me that I am on the right path.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that I feel are most impactful in my journey is one, being able to practice patience. I feel I am currently in a season of transition with no clear picture of where I am actually going or transiting into. I have to have a lot of patience and wait things out, which is def a skill because waiting is never easy. Especially when you don’t even know what you are waiting for.

Second I would say being able to have self control. Everything is not always going to go your way and you can allow your feelings and emotions to control your decisions. You have to be able to control yourself because lack of it can cause you to hastily make a decision and it may not be the best one. My mother always tells to never make a decision in the midst of sadness or anger. Give yourself time to think and reflect when you are in a better state of mind, this way you are able to see the entire picture and make the best decision in a more positive light.

And last I would say having the knowledge to pray. I have realized in life that I can not do this thing on my own. I need Jesus to help me. Knowing this has I have been able to make it this far. I have been unemployed for 9 months and there is no way I would of been able to stay a float the way that I have with prayer and God.

These qualities are not things that I have always had, and honestly I am still working on them all. I don’t have it all together, but I know these three things are the main things that have truly helped me in these times. Its not easy but its also not impossible, just keep going and never give up, speak life over yourself and believe that everything will work!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes absolutely. I would love to connect with other lifestyle creators. I watch a lot of youtube and I am inspired by sooo many different content creators. I am really drawn to the lifestyle girlies, all things life, make up, shopping count me in! I love to be able to relate with other content creators so authenticity and realness is very important to me when it comes to collaborations. I would also love to collab with brands surrounding makeup, skin care, hair care etc. I am hoping and praying that 2026 will bring at least one opportunity for me to be able to do this. I have placed my business email in my bios across all platforms and within my linktree!
