Meet Li/Charlie Chen/Nguyen

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Li/Charlie Chen/Nguyen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Li/Charlie, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

Our generosity is deeply rooted in how we were raised. Both Charlie and I come from families who worked exceptionally hard to create better opportunities for their children. They taught us—through both words and actions—that kindness and generosity are never wasted, and that when you lead with them, abundance finds its way back to you. We witnessed this in how they treated others, how they carried themselves day to day, and how they consistently gave back to the world around them. Growing up with those values naturally shaped who we are today, and it’s a way of life we strive to embody and pass on to the next generation.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Both Charlie and Li work in healthcare, a field that brings us a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment. Charlie is a practicing chiropractor based in Boston, Massachusetts, while Li is an occupational therapist in Tampa, Florida. At the core of what they do is a shared passion for helping others and improving overall health and well-being. Long term, they hope to open a practice together that integrates both specialties—allowing them to serve our community collaboratively and holistically as a team.

Beyond their individual careers, they also share a creative outlet through food. Together, they manage a food-focused Instagram page where they highlight their love for dining experiences and, most importantly, shine a light on small and family-owned businesses that often go unnoticed. Supporting local establishments is especially meaningful to them, as Li grew up immersed in family-run restaurants. After her parents sold our childhood family restaurant, they embarked on a new chapter by opening one of Brandon, Florida’s first ramen shops in 2018. The concept grew successfully and eventually expanded into multiple locations across Florida.

In May 2025, the brand was reintroduced as Miku Ramen, marking an exciting evolution of the business. Since the beginning, Li has been involved behind the scenes, learning and managing the brand’s social media presence. That experience naturally expanded into content creation for our personal food platform, @feedbubs, where Charlie and Li combine storytelling, food, and community engagement.

Ultimately, as we continue to grow—both professionally and creatively—our goal is to use our skills, platforms, and shared experiences to give back and serve our community in meaningful ways.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities stand out as the most impactful in shaping our journey: discipline, resilience through adversity, and courtesy.

Discipline has been foundational. Growth often requires being honest with yourself—especially when it’s uncomfortable. Showing up consistently, setting boundaries, and holding yourself accountable are what turn goals into reality. Discipline isn’t about perfection; it’s about commitment, even on the days when motivation fades.

Adversity has been one of our greatest teachers. Challenges and setbacks are inevitable, but learning how to move through them—rather than around them—builds strength, perspective, and confidence. Every obstacle has sharpened our ability to adapt, problem-solve, and stay grounded during uncertainty.

Courtesy is equally important. Remaining humble, reasonable, and kind creates lasting relationships and opens doors that talent alone cannot. How you treat people—especially when no one is watching—defines both your character and your legacy.

For those early in their journey, our advice is to start with clarity and intention. Write your goals down and create a plan, even if it evolves over time. Surround yourself with people who inspire, challenge, and motivate you to be better. Most importantly, build healthy habits early—how you manage your time, energy, and mindset now will shape the opportunities available to you later.

Progress is rarely linear, but with discipline, resilience, and kindness as guiding principles, the journey becomes both meaningful and sustainable.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

This truly ties back to everything we’ve shared. The most impactful thing our parents did for us was their willingness to sacrifice—often quietly and without recognition—to create a better path for the next generation. They worked long hours, including holidays and weekends, when others didn’t, so that we could have opportunities they never had.

Their work ethic, perseverance, and selflessness didn’t just provide stability; they cleared the way for us to pursue our passions with confidence and purpose. That foundation continues to guide our decisions today, and it’s something we carry with deep gratitude and a strong sense of responsibility to honor through our own work and values.
