We were lucky to catch up with Gary Burgess recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Gary with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic comes from knowing nothing is handed to you. I watched people grind to turn nothing into something, and that taught me to stay motivated, stay consistent, and stay hungry. I take pride in outworking challenges and staying committed to the vision.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a multi-talented creative specializing in music artistry, talent development, videography, and photography. I work with artists, brands, and creators to help bring their vision to life—whether that’s through music collaboration, performance development, professional visuals, or full production support. What excites me most is seeing raw ideas transform into powerful art and being able to help people tell their stories in authentic, cinematic, and impactful ways.
What makes my work special is that I’m not just capturing moments or producing content—I’m building experiences, encouraging creativity, and helping artists elevate their craft. Every project means something to me, and I put passion, precision, and purpose into everything I create.
Right now, I’m continuing to expand creatively, working on new projects, visuals, collaborations, and future events that showcase both emerging talent and the culture we represent. There’s a lot more on the way, and I’m excited for everyone to see what’s coming next.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities and skills that have been most impactful in my journey are vision, consistency, and relationship-building.
First, having creative and strategic vision has been huge. In videography and music management, you have to see the bigger picture—how a visual, a brand, or an artist’s direction will connect with people and grow over time. Developing that came from studying the craft, paying attention to trends, and understanding storytelling on both a visual and business level.
Second is consistency and discipline. This industry moves fast, and success doesn’t happen overnight. Showing up, putting in the work, improving your skills, and staying committed through setbacks is what separates hobbyists from professionals. I learned to treat every project with intention, whether big or small, because every opportunity builds reputation.
The third is strong relationships and communication. As a videographer and music manager, you’re constantly collaborating. Trust, respect, and clear communication are everything. Building real connections with artists, clients, and teams has opened doors and created long-term partnerships.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Right now, the biggest challenge I’m facing is balancing rapid growth with sustainable structure. As opportunities expand in both videography and music management, the demand for more content, bigger projects, and higher-level support continues to grow. The challenge is making sure I maintain quality, creativity, and personal attention for every client and artist while scaling up.
