We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Veena Kondapalli a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Veena, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
The one thing that I have learnt from my father from a young age is Optimism. Once you see the world with a positive outlook, the outcome is always positive. Once you believe in a blind faith that everything in the universe works for your best interest, things happen in that way. It helps in overcoming challenges and obstacles that we face in our lives. Our 11th Annual ICP Ent Film Festival was a success. Our team had a positive optimism and the end result was a great success.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that have helped me in my journey are being open minded, committed and being patient. By being open minded I was able to start my journey in Film Production with my friend Richard Oliver Jr and had my hands on experience as Production Assistant, Wardrobe designer, make up artist for our very first production “Tyrone-The Central Park Beggar”. Being committed taught me the valuable lesson that however long and tedious the journey might be, when you are committed only then you will see the end result. This was very true during our successful Kickstarter campaigns that enabled us to raise 13.5K and enabled us to complete our web-series “The Rhyme Impersonator Show” and our media channel with the same name that has been invited to interview celebrities at various festivals especially at Sun Dance Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival.
Being committed mean to start, work and complete the work and not to give up until you complete the project. That was the only way I was successfully able to complete my first book- “Wandering Thoughts”, which is a collection of poems with expressions inspired by her many journeys in New York City.
When you are patient during the challenges, gradually you get the confidence and the solutions to the challenges or obstacles you are facing in your life that ultimately will pave you on the road to success.
