Kinga Brassay’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Kinga Brassay shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Kinga, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: When was the last time you felt true joy?
The last time I felt true joy was just a few days ago, finishing up a few spaces in our home. I added new wallpaper, painted some walls, swapped out knobs, and placed new lights. Once it was done, I kept going back, admiring the changes and soaking it all in. Even small touches like that bring me so much happiness, and I find myself constantly doing it in different spaces.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kinga Brassay, and I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer. Over the last few years, I’ve been focusing on creating large abstract paintings for high-end homes through Brassay Art, while also working on multiple residential and commercial spaces through House of Brassay, and teaching art and design at the college level. I love blending art with interiors because I believe a unique art piece can elevate a space.
Right now, I am working on my next collection as I prepare for an upcoming exhibition of my paintings in February. At the same time, I offer online E-design packages through House of Brassay, so from the comfort of your home, you can receive personalized guidance to redesign your space and transform your house into a home that truly feels like yours. My spaces are always full of character, as I believe your home should reflect who you are.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I’ve realized that the greatest lessons about work have come from my own experiences rather than from a single person. I’ve learned that there is joy even in hard work, especially when you have a clear goal or a purpose you care about. When your work aligns with your passion, even the challenges become rewarding, and that sense of fulfillment keeps you motivated and inspired every day.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be to trust the journey and be patient with yourself. Everything you’re learning, every mistake, and every small step is shaping who you’re meant to become.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I really admire people who weren’t born into privilege but worked incredibly hard to create something meaningful despite the struggles they faced. I respect those who didn’t give up, who stayed committed to their goals, and who built their lives through determination and resilience. To me, that kind of perseverance and integrity is truly inspiring.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’ve always been drawn to interior design and art, and it’s what I’ve spent most of my time doing, even during moments when I doubted myself or felt discouraged. Growing up in a family of artists, I learned a lot about creativity, but I also wanted to approach art in a practical way, seeing it not just as self-expression but as something that can create value and be treated as a sustainable business. Following my passion has always felt like following my calling, rather than simply doing what I was told.
