Steve Laureti shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Steve, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have you stood up for someone when it cost you something?
Of course. Over the last 5 years, in addition to my music business, I decided to run for my city’s council – standing up for my constituents on certain issues was rewarding and a service to my community, but unfortunately cost some relationships. I think it’s important to stand up for what you believe in.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Steve Laureti, a New York–based pianist and singer who specializes in upscale corporate events, private functions, and luxury venues across the country. My performances blend upscale piano entertainment with high-energy, interactive moments that bring people together, whether that means setting an elegant tone or turning the room into a full sing-along experience.
What makes my work unique is the opportunity to travel nationwide performing for prestigious events and iconic venues, including The Masters, the U.S. Open, the Country Club of Charleston, and high-profile corporate events for major brands.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My father, mother, and grandparents all taught me the most about work. They showed me the importance of showing up, working hard, and doing things the right way. You determine your own path. You don’t get handouts and have to work for what you want. That mindset stuck with me and still guides how I approach every performance and opportunity.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Out of the box! Don’t be afraid to try new things. They can open the door to bigger and better opportunities.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Being a good person and building strong relationships. Help someone that has helped you.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop worrying about the small stuff.
