We were lucky to catch up with Victoria Peters recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I’m a naturally confident person, and I have been since I was little. I know that bumps in the road help me learn and improve and don’t mean I’m not capable. We all have strengths and we all have weaknesses, but we are all adaptable. I love to try new things, I will try almost anything once, and I know that as long as I give it my all, I won’t regret the outcome. I truly believe confidence and self esteem go hand in hand, you can’t have one without the other.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Tye Dye By Tori started in San Diego California. We specialize in just about everything dyed and bleached, from home goods to apparel. All of our items are customized by hand, we believe color should be used in unconventional ways. Our color combos are far from your conventional tie dye. We strive to bring out the truest potential and purest color in each and every piece. We find color inspiration everywhere and are constantly creating new color stories and designs.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I can safely say my confidence, my work ethic, and my eye for design were three things that helped me in this journey. As I mentioned earlier I am naturally a confident person, I will try anything without a single fear. I jumped head first into tie dye and it was an incredible decision. I also am an extremely hard worker, most of my life I have worked multiple jobs and had to manage my times and dedication to each. I’m not scared of getting my hands dirty and some good old fashioned hard work. I have a background in design and this greatly helped me understand the relationships between colors and helps me design my color palettes.
Something I would tell someone who is early on in their journey is to be fearless, be exact, know your strengths, and don’t be afraid of your weaknesses.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I LOVE a collaboration. Over the years I’ve done collabs with designers, artists, coffee shops, bakers, and many more! I love when creators reach out and want to design something amazing together. I always direct people to my contact page on my website if they have an idea they want to run by me!
