We recently connected with Alicia Ciak and have shared our conversation below.
Alicia , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Growing up, confidence wasn’t something that came naturally to me. Especially as someone who struggles with anxiety, this caused me to have a very low self-esteem. However, one of the most impactful things that has improved my confidence was getting in a gym at 16 years old and starting strength training. Not only did it help me become confident enough to now coach other women and start my own brand, but has also helped me become confident in so many other areas of my life as well. Along with the gym, consciously choosing to work on myself and my own personal development has been a huge factor. Therapy, journaling, following other inspirational women, and even working with some personal development coaches has without a doubt changed my life. I now not only have a passion for helping other women lose weight and feel their absolute BEST.. but also helping them truly love themselves from the inside out (while also feeling sexy in their own skin again!) so they can show up as the “Fit Alpha Female” they’ve always wanted to be.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hey! I’m Alicia Ciak. I’ve been on my own fitness journey since I was 16 years old after enduring a painful hamstring injury that ended my dance career. What seemed to be such a tragic end to a huge passion of mine was actually just the beginning of finding my love for health and fitness.
Starting my own fitness journey also had a lot to do with feeling empowered and sexy in my own skin..and I’ve learned over the years that it’s actually so much more than just loving your physical appearance- but loving yourself from the inside out.
I am a certified nutritionist and personal trainer, I have built a multiple six figure business by age 22 while also growing my following on social media and speaking about health and business topics at fitness events.
I am truly on a mission to help as many women as possible love themselves from the inside out while also learning what feeling sexy and empowered means/feels like to them. Rather than cutting out carbs or drinking shakes for every meal, my online training app, Alicia’s Fit Alpha Females, will help you lose fat in the most sustainable way possible while we also focus on mental health and becoming the “Fit Alpha Female” you’ve always wanted to be.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’ll provide three qualities/skills that have helped me both with starting a successful brand and being successful in my own fitness journey 🙂
1. Grit/Having a strong work ethic
If it was easy, almost everyone would have their own business. It’s easy to look on social media and think being a business owner or coach is “easy”… however, I’ll be the first to tell you building my own brand has been the hardest but yet most rewarding things I’ve ever done. From a young age my dad always told me I had a “strong work ethic” but was also stubborn as hell. I believe both have been used to my advantage in this case. Your business needs to be your “baby” and you have to be willing to make sacrifices every day if you truly want to make it.
Just like for business, you need to have a strong work ethic and grit when you’re first starting your fitness journey. Stop looking for the quick and easy route, the fads, and buying products. REAL , sustainable results take TIME.
2. Connections/Consultants
Building connections with other business owners and potentially working with consultants to help you in the beginning can save you a lot of time and help you achieve your goals faster. HOWEVER, I do want to preference and say that there’s a lot of “mentors” out there on social media.. so always make sure your sources are credible (especially if you’re paying them).
Having a coach when I started my fitness journey back in 2016 was the single best thing I did for myself. Not only will it hold you accountable, but also save you time from having to start back over (again) on the New Year. Once again, please make sure when choosing a coach that they’re qualified and actually know what they’re doing. Your body deserves nothing but the BEST help.
3. Staying Humble (while also knowing your worth)
No matter how successful you are with your weight-loss goals or business… always.Stay.Humble.
There’s always more to learn, there’s always someone who’s working harder and achieving more than you, and honestly… we all know someone who let their success get to their head..and in my opinion, that’s not a trait I ever want to be remembered by. Be proud of yourself and how far you’ve come, but stay kind and stay humble.
Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
I believe that you should always buckle down on your strengths , but speaking as a business owner, you do have to be willing to learn new skills and become better at a variety of things in the beginning before you can earn the right to outsource the things you hate doing.
By buckling down on my strengths of loving marketing and content creation, I was able to grow multiple different social media platforms in just a little under a year. However, there are so many talented business owners and coaches who are great at delivering their product/service, but hate marketing and social media..and because they aren’t willing to work on those areas, the business dies or just barely survives to be called a “hobby”.
