Alyson MacLeod CHC on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alyson MacLeod CHC. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Alyson, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I always start with prayer + gratitude while still in bed. This has been the best for me to get a handle of my thoughts for the positive and intentional. Then I make sure that I hydrate with lemon water with 4-5 Celtic Sea Salt rocks and then a decaf tea. I love doing my lighter workout in the morning for 15 to 20 minutes of Pilates or Yoga and include breath work for 5-10 minutes also. By then my dog wants to head outside so I take advantage of that time to step into the fresh air with my bare feet on the ground (until we have snow)! I finish with setting an intention for the day and journaling my 3 priorities I want to accomplish that day. After that I get ready to work, play and collaborate!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Alyson MacLeod, founder of Superior Wellness and creator of The P.O.W.E.R. Wheel and Becoming an Unstoppable Healthy Woman. I’m a menopause empowerment coach, author, and former gym owner who helps executive and business women 40+ navigate peri to post-menopause with confidence, clarity, and vitality.
My work was born from my own journey—early menopause at 43 after an oophorectomy, hip replacements, and years of rebuilding my health and identity. That experience ignited my passion to help women rewrite the story of midlife. Through my coaching programs, oracle deck, workshops, and best selling book, Becoming an Unstoppable Healthy Woman, I’m redefining menopause as a powerful new beginning—where women reclaim their energy, their voice, and their leadership.
What makes my work unique is how I blend science, soulful self-expression, and mindset transformation. It’s not just about managing symptoms—it’s about helping women feel sexy, strong, and unstoppable again. Right now, I’m working on expanding The Wonder Woman Shift, a 90-day digital transformation for women who are ready to rise into their next chapter with power and purpose.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was that little girl who just wanted to climb a tree. I was not allowed. At a very early age I was taught to stand up straight, shoulders back and smile – do not scuff your shoes or ruffle that dress. I was being molded into that perfect little girly girl who did what she was told no matter the cost to her self esteem or desires. I was scared to voice my opinion, I was told I was not smart enough, not pretty enough, not enough. I was that girl until I turned 60! I am now that not so girly girl who would climb a tree if I thought I wouldn’t fall out of it, but I will now take risks, do my best not to follow what everyone thinks I should do and I stand up for myself and others. I am learning to follow my heart, speak my truth and be the voice for women like I was, who suffer in silence, smile when they are crying inside and I stopped always saying Yes to everyone and everything else but me. I am living with more clarity, strength and happiness then I ever thought possible. I am now loving being me and taking my life to the next level without the frilly dress and yes, some of my shoes may be scuffed, soiled and messy but I am loving life.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
For as long as I can remember, unworthiness was the shadow that followed me. It wasn’t loud — it whispered. You’re not enough. Don’t stand out. Don’t take up too much space. And for years, I listened. I built walls around myself, worked harder than anyone else, and tried to earn love, success, and belonging.

When I entered early menopause at 43 after an oophorectomy, my body changed overnight. I felt like I’d lost control — of my health, my identity, even my womanhood. That’s when unworthiness came roaring back, but this time, I didn’t have the energy to keep running from it. I had to sit with it. I had to face myself.

That became the turning point. Piece by piece, I started rebuilding — physically after surgeries, emotionally after heartbreak, spiritually after burnout. I learned resilience not by pushing through, but by surrendering to what was real.

Standing alone was terrifying at first. But over time, I discovered that solitude isn’t emptiness — it’s clarity. It’s where I found my voice, my strength, and the woman I had always been underneath the fear.

Now, in my 60s, I’m thriving in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I no longer chase worthiness; I embody it. Every scar, every setback, every sleepless night was a lesson in self-love. Today, I help other women see that menopause isn’t an ending — it’s an initiation into their most powerful, unapologetic self.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
The project I’m unwaveringly committed to is The Wonder Woman Shift — a global movement designed to help women navigate peri to post-menopause with strength, soul, and self-leadership.
At its core, The Wonder Woman Shift is about transforming how women experience this stage of life. It’s built around my six-phase framework — Awaken Her, Calm Her, Balance Her, Embody Her, Express Her, and Lead Her — which guides women through reclaiming their identity, restoring hormonal balance and energy, reconnecting to their sensuality and voice, and rising into their full purpose and power.
This isn’t just a wellness program. It’s a redefinition of what it means to age as a woman — vibrant, wise, and unapologetically herself. I’m building a body of work that includes coaching, retreats, courses, and my best selling book Becoming an Unstoppable Healthy Woman — all anchored in the belief that menopause is not the end, but the awakening of a new era of womanhood.
No matter how long it takes, this is my life’s mission — to change the narrative around menopause and inspire women to see this transition as their greatest superpower.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m in nature — when the noise quiets, the air softens, and I can hear my own heartbeat again. Whether I’m walking with my dog Nyx, feeling the earth under my feet, or watching the light change across the sky, nature reminds me of who I am beyond all the roles and responsibilities.
Peace also finds me in the moments when I know I’ve made a difference — when a woman begins to understand her body and her power through menopause. Seeing her shift from confusion or frustration to clarity and confidence fills me with such gratitude.
Time with my boys, their wonderful partners, and my family brings me the deepest sense of love and belonging. Those are the moments that anchor me — the laughter, the connection, the simple joy of being together.
And through it all, my greatest peace comes from remembering that I am a child of God. That truth centers me no matter what life brings. It reminds me that I’m guided, protected, and loved — and that everything in my life unfolds exactly as it should.
“True peace lives in the quiet moments — in nature, in family, and in knowing I’ve helped another woman find her light.”
