Amanda (Seeberger) Albrecht of Toms River on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Amanda (Seeberger) Albrecht. Check out our conversation below.

Amanda, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to trust myself more fully- especially as a founder.

For a long time, I was conditioned to look outward for validation: titles, timelines, and reassurance that I was ‘doing it right.’ Building Always Amalfi has taught me that clarity often comes through action, not certainty- and that momentum is built by choosing trust over hesitation.

Right now, I’m learning to make decisions with confidence even when there isn’t a perfect roadmap. I’m trusting my instincts, honoring my values, and believing that I don’t need permission to build something meaningful. That shift has been both the scariest and the most freeing part of this journey.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m the founder of Always Amalfi, a lifestyle online boutique based in Toms River, New Jersey, inspired by the beauty, warmth, and effortless elegance of the Amalfi Coast of Italy. After spending over seven years in the corporate side of the fashion industry- working in buying, merchandising, and digital marketing for a major retailer- I launched Always Amalfi to bring together my love of fashion, Italian culture, storytelling, and meaningful connection.

Always Amalfi is more than a shop- it’s an experience. We curate women’s apparel, accessories, and gifts that feel timeless yet approachable, celebrating la dolce vita, Italian-American heritage, and the joy of everyday moments. Every piece is thoughtfully chosen to evoke a sense of place, nostalgia, and confidence, all at an accessible price point. .

What began as a personal leap has grown into a brand with a loyal community both online and in person. This year, I’m focused on expanding pop-up events throughout New Jersey and lower New York, hosting multiple pop-ups each month to bring the brand to life beyond the screen. These events allow for real connection- community, conversation, and shared moments with customers who value style, travel, and intentional living.

Always Amalfi is a reflection of my journey- blending creativity, entrepreneurship, and heart- and I’m committed to growing it in a way that feels personal, sustainable, and deeply human.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Before I could fully see myself, a younger version of me already knew who I was becoming.

In college, I dreamed of owning my own boutique- of building something creative, meaningful, and personal. I loved fashion, storytelling, and the way style could make people feel confident and connected. But like many women, I was taught that the “responsible” path was to climb the corporate ladder first.

I spent years in corporate fashion and digital marketing, learning the industry from the inside. I worked hard, stayed loyal, and believed that dedication would be rewarded with stability. Then everything changed.

After relocating for my personal life, I lost my role due to remote work policy changes- despite years of strong performance. It was painful, but deeply clarifying. I realized that no matter how loyal you are, security in a large company can disappear overnight.

Watching similar situations unfold for other women around me made the lesson impossible to ignore. It forced me to ask myself: if nothing is guaranteed, why not bet on myself?

That moment gave me the courage to finally listen to the version of me who had always known what she wanted. I launched Always Amalfi- built with intention, heart, and purpose- and began catching up to the confidence that younger version of me already had.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Choosing entrepreneurship full-time was terrifying at first. There were moments when growth felt slow, the numbers felt intimidating, and self-doubt crept in. It would have been easier to return to something familiar and predictable.

What kept me from giving up was reconnecting with why I started Always Amalfi in the first place. It was never just about selling products- it was about creating something meaningful that reflected my heritage, my faith, and a slower, more intentional way of life inspired by the Amalfi Coast.

Entrepreneurship didn’t remove responsibility from my life- it required more of it. It asked me to be disciplined, consistent, and fully accountable in ways I hadn’t experienced before.

Over time, I began to understand that discomfort didn’t mean I was on the wrong path- it meant I was growing. What initially felt like loss revealed itself as redirection.

Choosing not to give up required faith: faith in myself, faith in the vision, and faith that consistency compounds over time. Looking back, that decision- though terrifying- became one of the most aligned choices I’ve ever made.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
I used to believe that stability came from staying loyal to the “right” company and following the expected path- that if I worked hard, stayed patient, and did everything responsibly, security would be guaranteed.

That belief made sense for a long time, especially early in my career. I was taught that consistency and loyalty would always be rewarded, and I built my identity around being dependable and committed.

What I’ve learned since is that true stability doesn’t come from external structures- it comes from adaptability, self-trust, and alignment. Circumstances can change overnight, no matter how hard you work, but your skills, values, and vision stay with you.

Letting go of that old belief allowed me to redefine what security means to me. Today, I see stability as having the courage to build something aligned with who I am, the confidence to evolve when needed, and the resilience to trust myself through uncertainty.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
For a long time, I was doing what I was told to do.

I followed the responsible path- corporate roles, stability, external markers of success- because that was what I believed security looked like. I don’t regret that chapter; it taught me discipline, resilience, and how the industry truly works. But I wasn’t fully living in alignment.

Building Always Amalfi has been a return to what I was born to do. I was always meant to create, to tell stories, to bring people together through fashion, culture, and meaning. I was meant to build something that felt personal, human, and intentional- not just efficient.

The shift didn’t happen overnight. It required unlearning the idea that safety comes from approval and relearning how to trust my instincts. Choosing this path meant stepping away from certainty and choosing alignment instead.

Today, I can say with confidence that I’m no longer building the life I was told to want- I’m building the life that reflects who I actually am.
