We recently had the chance to connect with Amit Sounds and have shared our conversation below.
Amit, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I usually start my day by setting intentions for the day and getting my mind on track.
Then, reply to emails and messages.
After that, I have calls with prospects and plan out future projects.
Then, at around 10 am, I start a session with an artist who comes to the studio to record/ produce a record.
After the session, I reply to new emails that came during the day.
Send files and plan out the next day.
Around 5-6 pm is family time, where I spend time with my wife and 2 daughters.
After the kids’ bedtime, I go to the gym.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello!
My name is Amit, and I’m a music producer, engineer, songwriter, and mixer.
I work with artists to enhance ideas, melodies, and concepts into tangible musical products that connect and inspire people.
I started as a teenage metal guitar player, slowly found my way into the production world, and fell in love with the process.
There is something so real in translating reality into art, using sounds and instruments.
I currently work with singer-songwriters, artists, and musicians to find their sound, understand their authentic, individual message and perspective, and turn it into a product that lets them express their true point of view, or paint a picture that other people can relate to.
My goal is to create meaningful products that inspire as many people as possible.
We all need to express ourselves fully, and there is no better way (in my opinion) than creating art.
Music is the language I chose to fulfill that need.
I use my skills and knowledge to help others achieve the same goal.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I used to think there was a formula for everything—a set path you’re supposed to follow that feels safe, agreeable, and free from controversy.
But I realized everyone’s different. Copying what someone else did doesn’t guarantee the same results. Each of us has our own process to reach our best life.
That’s why comparison is pointless. The real work is finding the path that actually works for you.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I believe suffering and failure are the greatest teachers. You can listen to endless advice and spend hours buried in theory—but real progress begins after a hard lesson.
That’s why I always encourage people to stop fearing failure. Those moments are the best things that can happen for your growth. It’s all about perspective. Like Thomas Edison said: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
No.
I don’t think it is possible.
We all create versions of the people we know, shaped by our own perspective, values, and experiences.
That means there are countless versions of you living in other people’s minds—and that’s okay. You don’t need to change or control it; it’s simply part of free thinking.
What matters is freeing yourself from their judgments so you can live fully, on your own terms.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Interesting topic.
I do this all the time, It’s kind of the same idea as “live like it’s your last day”, but on a longer scale.
I try to live my life with no regrets, I don’t think there’s something I would change.
