Amy Lee on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Amy Lee and have shared our conversation below.

Amy, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Merchandise. We are starting the new S.P.I merchandise line which will be featured on our website: springparanormalinvestigations.net very soon!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Amy Lee, the founder and owner of Spring Paranormal Investigations LLC., S.P.I. We are a Professional Paranormal Specialty Team, known for dealing with Red Flag Malevolent and/or Demonic cases all over the greater U.S.A. and beyond. Our team is currently composed of 5 amazing members who bring dedication and the drive to every case we touch. We are know for coming in where others have been unsuccessful and clearing the homes and businesses of the clients we help. Our cases are not typical, they are often violent and far more dangerous than those of a regular paranormal team. Being a member on this team requires you to have a true calling to help others, and I can honestly say I am very proud to work alongside each and every one of them.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I think one of our most pivotal moments was the first Exorcism we did as a team. Some members never quite recovered from that and eventually left the group. Others found a strength and a resolve they had never realized they had in them, and they have healed and grown to be even bigger parts of this team. For me it was a realization that we could accomplish anything we set our minds to together, as long as we have the power of God by our side. We believe we should never give up and to never stop, because every life and every soul is precious. As long as we have the ability to help those who need it most, we will be there for them.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have definitely been a lot of hard moments. Times were we felt over-worked, dealt with illness, dealt with losing former members, etc. Everyone on the team with the exception of myself and our newest member (Todd) has taken a break at some point and come back. Doing this type of work takes a big toll on people and in the end only the strongest survive and continue. For me, I have my weak moments but as long as I’m physically able to keep going I will. I can’t bear the thought of quitting… having someone call on us for help and knowing I could have helped but chose not to. For us this is a true calling and that calling is the driving force in me that I don’t think I could ever let go of.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Ideas about the paranormal are all over the map. Some believe, some don’t. Some only believe in certain parts of it but not others. Some believe everything is evil, others believe almost nothing is. So much of it comes down to your personal religious views and experiences. It is the unknown and probably always will be. Even those like us that have been regarded as experts, don’t know it all and still haven’t seen it all. We still learn new things constantly. I think that’s a good thing and it keeps it interesting. We use a lot of old school methods in what we do. We like to collect raw evidence and have a strong commitment to being genuine and real no matter what. Some people may never believe as we do, and that’s ok. At the end of the day, the most important aspects should be furthering the field and helping others.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. How do you know when you’re out of your depth?
One of the things I love most about my team is how we face challenges. If we feel unsure we don’t quit. We go back to the drawing board, dig in deeper and find a work-around. Failure is not an option for us, period. Often when we are called in families are at their wits end and they feel we are their last hope. Often, peoples lives are literally depending on the work we do. We don’t take that lightly, so we find a way to succeed no matter what it takes and we never give up!
