A.R. Mauriella shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
A.R. , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I would say I am chasing Legacy. The idea of legacy and generational wealth have been on my mind since I was a teenager. Carrying my father’s name and the history of both sides of my family is something I take great pride in. That’s why I created Arturo Rose—a brand built to stand among the great heritage houses like Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, and Fendi. My vision has always been to craft more than clothing; it’s about establishing a timeless identity, rooted in excellence, innovation, and culture, that will carry the Arturo Rose name into the same echelon of global luxury.
If I stopped chasing that, Arturo Rose would risk becoming just another label instead of a legacy. Fashion powerhouses are built on consistency, storytelling, and the courage to keep pushing boundaries. To me, stopping would mean abandoning the opportunity to build a house that lasts for generations, one that embodies craftsmanship, vision, and influence at the highest level. Arturo Rose is not just my name—it’s a future heritage brand, and every step I take is to ensure it becomes a lasting force in luxury fashion.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is A.R. Mauriella, and I am the founder and creative director of Arturo Rose. The brand carries both my name and my father’s, making it deeply personal while also symbolic of legacy. Arturo Rose began in streetwear, but it was never meant to stay there—it was designed from the start to evolve into a future luxury powerhouse. We draw inspiration from culture, music, and the streets, but elevate it with the same focus on craftsmanship, storytelling, and timeless appeal that you see in notable heritage houses. That balance of authenticity and aspiration is what makes Arturo Rose different.
What makes us unique is that we’re building a brand that refuses to compromise—every collection reflects our commitment to quality, sustainability, and creating pieces that last. We don’t follow trends; we set a standard. Our mission is to take the energy and creativity of streetwear and carry it into the realm of global luxury, creating a heritage brand for the new generation. Right now, we’re working on The Vision Reborn collection, a complete relaunch that positions Arturo Rose to take its rightful place in fashion history—not just as another label, but as a house that stands for culture, legacy, and longevity.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
This is a great question and something I can speak to from experience. Pride and emotion are often what break the bonds between people. When we let emotions lead our decisions in the moment, we can act or speak in ways that we later regret. Pride keeps us from apologizing, from seeing the other person’s perspective, and from valuing the relationship more than our own ego. Over time, those small moments compound, and connections that once felt unshakable can begin to fracture.
What restores those bonds is having the emotional capacity to put pride aside and remembering that life is short. A lot can happen through uncomfortable but necessary conversations and taking accountability for your actions—even if you don’t fully agree. That same philosophy carries into Arturo Rose: we’re a brand that believes in honesty, humility, and longevity. Just as relationships are sustained by humility and understanding, we design with the intention of creating pieces that outlast trends and moments. For us, restoration is about building something timeless—whether that’s between people or in the legacy of a brand.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. There have been multiple times I’ve almost given up—even recently. The fashion industry is tough, and when you’re carving your own lane, there are moments when you feel unseen or underestimated. Add in challenges like the economy, the pandemic, and the natural ups and downs of entrepreneurship, and it can feel like the weight of the world is stacked against you. But I believe that how you respond to defeat is what ultimately makes you a champion. Sometimes you have to tear everything down to its core, then rebuild it with sharper focus and a renewed sense of purpose.
That’s exactly what Arturo Rose stands for and why we’re entering a new era with The Vision Reborn. This rebrand isn’t just about new designs—it’s about recalibrating the brand to reflect resilience, longevity, and the pursuit of legacy. Arturo Rose has always aspired to evolve from its streetwear roots into a true heritage house, one that carries a name across generations. Every setback has been a lesson, every challenge a catalyst for growth. To me, giving up was never the destination; instead, it became the fuel to transform adversity into strength and to position Arturo Rose as a future powerhouse in fashion.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say family and legacy are the pinnacle of what matters to me the most. That truth has been shaped by my own life experiences, especially being my mother’s caretaker since I was 17 and now preparing her for her fourth heart surgery. Family is not an abstract idea for me—it’s real responsibility, real sacrifice, and real love. Carrying my father’s name through Arturo Rose is part of that same legacy, and it pushes me to create something that honors both sides of my family in a way that will last for generations.
I confess that God is my Lord and Savior. NONE of this happens without him and I give him the highest praise for carrying me through life. Living through the righteousness of Christ and accepting the blessings of Abraham. I am far from perfect, but strengthening that relationship and continuing to grow as a man is something very important to me. That same principle drives Arturo Rose: we build every collection, every design, and every campaign with intention, honoring heritage, family, and the pursuit of lasting legacy. Our mission is to create a brand that reflects the values I hold dear—faith, responsibility, and resilience—while establishing Arturo Rose as a heritage house that stands the test of time
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Wow. These are some very thought-provoking questions. With full transparency, I would immediately make amends with the people I may have hurt or affected negatively on my journey and make it right with them. You only get one life, and it is very short. As mentioned before, sometimes you have to put pride aside to really make amends. Life is too fleeting to carry grudges or let misunderstandings linger. I would focus on repairing relationships, expressing gratitude, and speaking truths that I may have left unsaid, because those moments of connection and reconciliation are what truly matter.
Taking accountability would become my priority in every area of life, and that same philosophy carries into Arturo Rose. Every decision we make as a brand—from design to production to the way we engage with our community—reflects integrity, transparency, and responsibility. I would stop postponing meaningful conversations and stop holding back from being fully present with the people and experiences that shape my life, just as Arturo Rose stops at nothing to uphold its commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and creating a legacy that lasts. Living with urgency and purpose, both personally and professionally, ensures that my actions leave a positive imprint on the people I care about and the heritage I’m building through the brand.
