Adeline-Julie Bee shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Adeline-Julie, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m walking a path.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
With over 20 years of experience in TV broadcasting, teaching, and creative work, I bring a rich, multidisciplinary background to my artistic journey. I am both a pattern designer and a teacher with a strong foundation in drawing and textile design, and I’m also known for my delicate watercolor paintings inspired by nature.
My artistry goes beyond the brush. I create my own handmade inks and water-based colors using plants and flowers, adding a deeply personal and sensory dimension to my work. Every piece is a fusion of tradition, craftsmanship, and a profound appreciation for nature’s quiet beauty.
I live in the Belgian countryside, where daily walks through the landscapes I cherrish, offer endless inspiration. These moments outdoors are a source of wonder and connection, shaped by the rhythm of the changing seasons.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
Life taught me the most about work. Especially the fact that we constantly have to bounce back. Every challenge, pause, or change has something to teach, and it’s often through those moments that we grow the most.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience in a way success never could. It showed me how to keep going when things fall apart, how to rebuild slowly, and how to find meaning even in uncertainty. While success can be comforting, suffering shapes character, it teaches patience, empathy, and the quiet strength that comes from knowing you can start again, no matter what.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is freedom. The freedom to move, to express, to go where curiosity leads. It’s the essence of creativity and growth. Being able to explore, speak, and choose your own path keeps the spirit alive and allows every individual to fully exist as themselves.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I think I would regret not continuing, not persevering when things felt uncertain, not believing in myself enough to keep going and not sharing what I have to offer. Because in the end, it’s through sharing that our work finds meaning and connects with others.
