We recently had the chance to connect with Amber Elliott and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Honestly, me. I’ve been the one who’s made myself both laugh and proud lately. There’s been a lot behind the scenes — from being publicly slandered by a local church,to losing an aesthetician I cared about, to enduring another miscarriage — yet somehow, I still wake up each morning with joy. Not because life’s been easy, but because I finally built something that’s mine.
Owning this business has stretched me in ways I never imagined. It’s tested my faith, my resilience, and my ability to keep showing up with love even when I’ve been misunderstood. But every time I see a guest walk out lighter, calmer, or inspired — I’m reminded that it was all worth it. So yes, I’m proud of myself. Not the “everything’s perfect” kind of proud — the “I survived, I stayed kind, and I kept going” kind.
And as for laughter — it comes from the small things now. My daughter’s silly jokes while I’m prepping tea, a client giggling in the oxygen chair, or realizing that even through the storms, I’ve still managed to keep joy brewing in my space and in my heart.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Amber, or as many call me, Ambi — a holistic health practitioner, tea alchemist, and founder of Brews of Wellness in Trenton, Georgia. My brand is part spa, part tea lounge, and part sanctuary for the soul. I created it as a space where people can slow down, sip with intention, and reconnect to themselves through beauty, botanicals, and inner healing.
What makes Brews of Wellness unique is that it’s not just about skincare or tea — it’s about alignment. Every experience here, from a DNA-based skincare analysis to a handcrafted cup of tea, is meant to help people rediscover balance and glow from the inside out. It’s where science meets soul.
And I’d be lying if I said the journey’s been easy. Since opening, I’ve faced public slander from a local church, lost a team member because of it, and endured another miscarriage. But through all that pain, I found purpose. I’ve learned that joy isn’t the absence of struggle — it’s the courage to keep showing up with light in your heart even when life throws shade.
Every morning I walk into my lounge, smell the herbs, hear the laughter, and see someone’s shoulders drop as they finally relax — that’s when I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
Right now, I’m working on expanding Brews of Wellness with DNA-based wellness programs, a holistic skincare line, and a few creative projects that tie back to my book, Lost in Wonderland. Everything I do now carries the same heartbeat: helping others transform pain into purpose — one sip, one session, one breath at a time.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks the bonds between people is usually fear — fear of truth, fear of change, fear of what they don’t understand. I’ve seen it up close. When I opened my business, I experienced people projecting their fears onto me, twisting my intentions, even publicly slandering my name. That kind of pain can make you question everything: your purpose, your community, your faith in people.
But what restores those bonds… is grace. Choosing not to become what hurt you. Choosing to see people through compassion, even when they don’t deserve it. I realized that healing isn’t about proving your innocence — it’s about protecting your peace.
When I started showing up with love again — through tea, through touchless healing, through quiet service — I began to see connection return. People started coming not just for tea or skincare, but for belonging. The same place that was once met with judgment became a space of peace.
So I’d say bonds break through fear and ego — but they’re restored through understanding, forgiveness, and the courage to keep showing up with heart when it’d be easier to shut down.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, more than once. When I opened Brews of Wellness, I truly believed pouring my heart into it would be healing. In March of 2024 I suffered my first miscarriage at 14 weeks. It was a grief I never thought I’d experience, especially after having three children already. During that grieving process my husband and I were taking care of his mother who we found out was sick and dying of lung cancer so I felt my grief had been put to aside in order to help my husband‘s grieve. I thought creating a space of peace and purpose for others would help me find my own. For a moment, it did — the teas, the scents, the joy on people’s faces — it felt like medicine.
But then everything hit at once. after opening my business. Feeling the sting of judgment when I was already grieving. And then, another miscarriage. I assume because of the circumstances. I remember sitting in my empty lounge one night, lights dimmed, asking myself if it was worth it. If maybe I’d just been naive to believe light could grow in a place that felt so dark. From people who claim to love but hate what they do not understand.
But something in me wouldn’t let go. Maybe it was faith. Maybe it was stubborn love. Or maybe it was the women who kept walking through my doors saying, “This place feels different..And we need different.” That’s when I realized — my healing wasn’t supposed to come from the business; it was coming through it. Every challenge was shaping me, not stopping me. So yes, I almost gave up. But the vision that started it all kept whispering, not yet.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The version people meet at Brews of Wellness—the one who smiles, pours tea, and talks about alignment, is me. My public self is my strength on display; my private self is the soil that grew it. Both are real. One just happens to shine in the light, and the other holds the roots in the dark.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
What I understand deeply is that healing is both spiritual and scientific. As a mother, wife, friend, holistic health practitioner, and researcher, I’ve learned that true wellness isn’t just about treating the body—it’s about tending to the spirit that lives inside it. Healing begins when we invite God into the process, allowing faith and understanding to work hand in hand.
Many people misunderstand practices like Reiki or integrative health, thinking they replace faith, when really, they express it. Reiki, for example, isn’t about someone playing “healer.” It’s about being a vessel for God’s peace, love, and light to flow through—just as prayer invites the Holy Spirit to comfort, guide, and renew. The energy isn’t ours—it’s His. We simply open the space for His work to be felt.
Healing, to me, is faith in action. It’s prayer made visible. Science shows how the body repairs itself, but faith reminds us why it can—because we were designed by a Creator who built restoration into our DNA. When we bring God into every layer of our wellness—mind, body, and spirit—healing expands beyond symptoms. It touches relationships, emotions, and purpose.
That’s what I understand: wellness isn’t about stepping away from faith—it’s about living it out fully. It’s remembering that God created the body to heal, the mind to renew, and the soul to rise again, no matter what it’s been through.
