An Inspired Chat with Amy Lin of Dubai

Amy Lin shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Amy, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
The most surprising thing I’ve learned about my customers is how often we settle. We wish, hope, and dream about living our ideal life—but we rarely go after it. We settle for the job, the relationship, the income, or the city we live in. Not because we don’t want more, but because we can’t see how it’s possible. So we stop dreaming before we even start.

That’s why I’m so passionate about what I do. I’ve been there myself, and now I’m living proof that you can create the life you truly desire once you understand how to align your mind with your vision. My mission is to show my clients that it’s not only possible—it’s inevitable when you stop settling for less than you’re meant for.

Because you were never meant to live an ordinary life—you were meant to live an opulent one. A life overflowing with abundance, wealth, purpose, and joy.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Amy Lin, Wealth Mindset Coach, International Speaker, and the visionary founder of The Opulent Academy. As a #1 International Best-Selling Author, I’ve dedicated my life to empowering others to manifest their next level of wealth, purpose, and transformation with ease.

My own journey of personal growth began when I decided to challenge every limitation I once believed about myself. From walking on fire and leaping off a five-story pole to swallowing fire—each experience taught me that fear is simply a doorway to expansion. Along that path, I was blessed to learn from one of my earliest mentors, the legendary Bob Proctor, who inspired me to help others unlock their own infinite potential.

In 2019, I founded The Opulent Academy—a mentorship organization devoted to helping people transform their self-image, reprogram limiting beliefs, and create extraordinary shifts in their lives. What makes my work unique is that it blends spiritual alignment with practical mindset mastery, helping people realize that abundance isn’t something outside of them—it’s something they are.

Today, through my books, coaching, and speaking, I’m on a mission to show others that they were never meant to live a life of limitation. You were meant to live an opulent life—one filled with abundance, freedom, and purpose.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Growing up in an Asian family, I was taught that children should be seen, not heard. I learned to stay quiet, to hold back my opinions, and to believe that what I had to say didn’t really matter. For a long time, I also believed that my personality was fixed—that I was just “born this way” and couldn’t change.

Through my own journey of personal growth and self-discovery, I’ve completely transformed that belief. I now know that who we are is not set in stone—it can be developed, expanded, and evolved. Every one of us has infinite potential waiting to be unlocked. Today, I know that my voice matters, that I matter—and so does everyone else’s.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that held me back the most was the fear of being seen and judged. I used to be shy and timid—I didn’t want to take up space or be in the spotlight. I often stayed quiet in meetings or at school because I was afraid of what others might think of me.

But through my own personal growth journey, I realized something powerful: it was never really about me. It’s about the people I’m here to help and the message I’m meant to share. Once I shifted my focus from fear to purpose, everything changed. Today, I show up boldly—especially in a world where social media puts us all on display—because I know that my voice can inspire someone else to step into theirs.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
I used to believe that you had to work hard for money and get a “good, stable job.” Growing up, my parents always said that people work hard for money, and it doesn’t matter if you enjoy it—that’s just life. So I followed that path. My first job out of college was in banking, and even though I didn’t enjoy it, I stayed for seven years because I thought that’s what responsible adults did.

But through my personal development journey, I realized how limiting that belief was. You can absolutely do what you love—and when you align your work with your passion and purpose, it never feels like hard work. Money becomes easy to earn because it flows from the energy of joy and belief, not struggle.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
For many years, I did what I was told to do—get a stable job, even if you don’t like it, because that’s what success is supposed to look like. I followed that path until I realized it wasn’t truly mine.

Today, I get to do what I was born to do—help people transform, overcome their limiting beliefs, and unlock their infinite potential so they can step into their true selves and create the life they truly desire. This is my purpose, my passion, and the greatest joy of my life—because I’m living proof that it’s possible.
