An Inspired Chat with Anna Midé of New York City

Anna Midé shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Anna, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I’ve been finding so much joy in restoring old furniture — there’s something rewarding about giving new life to vintage pieces. When I’m not sanding or painting, I love spending time with my family and playing ball with my dog, which always lifts my mood. Hot yoga has also become one of my favorite ways to recharge; it keeps me grounded, focused, and full of energy. These simple moments outside of work bring balance, creativity, and happiness to my everyday life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Anna Midé, a professional fashion and commercial model with over four years of experience working across editorial, runway, and brand campaigns. My modeling journey began with a love for creative storytelling — using movement, expression, and style to bring each brand’s vision to life. What makes my work unique is the balance I bring between high-fashion artistry and relatable commercial appeal, allowing me to connect with both creative teams and audiences worldwide. Right now, I’m focused on expanding my portfolio across Europe and the U.S., collaborating with photographers and brands that align with my values of authenticity, sustainability, and modern elegance.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work is my dad. He’s always led by example — showing me the value of consistency, integrity, and hard work, no matter what you’re doing. Watching how he approaches challenges with patience and dedication has shaped the way I navigate my own career. His advice to “always show up prepared and give your best, even when no one’s watching” is something I carry with me in every modeling job and creative project.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
Something I quietly miss, though I rarely speak about it, is the child I never had. In a very difficult moment of my life, I felt pressured into making a decision I didn’t truly want, and I’ve carried the weight of that ever since. Even though that baby was never born, it left an imprint on my heart — a space that feels missing, like a piece of my soul I can’t quite get back. It’s a quiet grief that has shaped who I am today, deepening my empathy and the way I approach life and relationships.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the fashion industry tells itself is that perfection sells. There’s this illusion that beauty has to fit into one narrow standard — the “ideal” look, body type, or personality — when in reality, what truly connects with people is authenticity. Behind the scenes, even models feel the pressure to look effortless all the time, but the truth is, everyone has insecurities and off days. The industry often talks about inclusivity and individuality, yet still struggles to fully embrace them beyond trends. I think the most powerful shift happening now is models and creatives reclaiming their voices — showing that real confidence, diversity, and human emotion are far more captivating than any version of perfection could ever be.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
If there’s one thing I would regret not doing, it’s pursuing modeling. It’s been more than just a career for me — it’s a form of creative expression and personal growth. Modeling has allowed me to travel, collaborate with inspiring people, and tell visual stories that connect with others. Even through the challenges, it’s something that makes me feel alive and purposeful. I know that if I hadn’t followed this path, I’d always wonder what if — and that thought alone reminds me why I’m so grateful I never gave up on it.
