An Inspired Chat with Architect Jui Patil of Mumbai

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Architect Jui Patil. Check out our conversation below.

Architect Jui, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
YES ABSOLUTELY YES! Most of us think we are the best version of human alive…dont we? When it comes to work and ethics, especially in this GenZ modern era, i think i would score 99%
I would definitely hire myself because of the high discipline im made up of, the punctuality that runs in my veins, the commitment to work hard and the high standard work ethics that i follow.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Graduated from Mumbai University, a registered member of the Council of Architecture, I hold a strong background in Architecture, Interior Designing and Landscape designing. With professional experience of 15years , I believe good design is produced from careful study and research, combined with technical knowledge and artistic judgment.
I have been featured in various magazines, newspapers, web portals for my work in the field of Architecture, Landscape and Interior designing.
JRarchitects has been empaneled in various government lobbies.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My habit of Observation taught me the most about my work. I wasnt surrounded by the most ideal seniors/ mentors or bosses whom i can call role models. However, my habit of seeing the good in people and picking up the good points from everyone always worked out for me. Even if i wasnt employed under the most ideal bosses, i always made it a point to carefully observe them, the way they talk/ work etc and thats what shaped me in the future.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
From the year 2020 to 2023/24, i suffered from chronic illness. I had many health problems. I was almost bed ridden in 2022 for some months. This phase taught me the most important life lessons. One being that professional life/ image is not everything. It takes minutes to shatter everything. The illness got me back to the ground. My attitude towards everyone changed. The weaker version of mine started seeing people beyond what my eyes could see. I filtered out my social circle and realised who deserves my time/ energy.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Chasing money is the worst thing to do. I have seen very talented people, loose it all because of over chasing a client or a project or because of acting greedy. One has to understand that good work is followed by money. If one focuses on discipline, commitment and quality work then money follows on its own.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes. I have always worked on the principles of Bhagwat Gita. One should work on his responsibilities and not worry about the outcome. I have never ever been the people- pleasing person. I never really cared what anybody else think about me. I have always been focused on giving my best in whatever im doing and getting any praises or appreciation is out of question for me.
