An Inspired Chat with Arrica Elliott

We recently had the chance to connect with Arrica Elliott and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Arrica, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Currently, I’m being called to embrace the spotlight through my modeling and creative work fully. For years, I was more comfortable staying behind the scenes — focusing on my artistry as a makeup artist, esthetician, and entrepreneur. But stepping in front of the camera has challenged me to be more vulnerable, more present, and more unapologetic about the space I occupy.

Modeling has become more than just a career extension — it’s a statement of confidence and empowerment. It’s about showing others that reinvention is possible at any stage, and that discipline and elegance can coexist. What I was once hesitant to claim is now the very platform I’m being called to expand.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Arrica “Ari” Elliott — a U.S. Air Force Veteran, licensed esthetician, published makeup artist, spa owner, and veterans’ advocate who has built a career at the intersection of service, beauty, and fashion. My journey began with a commitment to serve my country, and that same dedication now fuels my mission in the beauty industry: to empower, uplift, and transform.

As a makeup artist and model, I’ve worked in editorial, runway, and commercial spaces, collaborating with designers, photographers, and brands across the country. My work is rooted in the belief that beauty is not just skin-deep — it’s a form of self-expression, confidence, and resilience.

What makes my story unique is how seamlessly my military discipline blends with my creative vision. Whether I’m behind the brush, in front of the camera, or mentoring others, I strive to create experiences that are both empowering and unforgettable. Currently, I’m expanding my brand to merge luxury beauty services with advocacy initiatives that support and celebrate fellow veterans, showing that strength and elegance can coexist.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was the day I stood in my Air Force uniform for the first time. I remember looking in the mirror and realizing that I had committed myself to something far greater than my own comfort — a mission, a purpose, and a promise to serve. It wasn’t just the uniform; it was the pride, the discipline, and the unshakable belief that I could overcome anything.

That same feeling of power has followed me into my work in beauty and fashion. Whether I’m commanding a runway or transforming a client with my artistry, I tap into that same inner strength — knowing that my presence, my voice, and my skills can inspire and make an impact.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: “Keep going — your talent and determination will carry you further than you can imagine.”

There were times when doubt and obstacles made the path feel uncertain, but I would remind her that every bit of passion and persistence was worth it. That little girl, who once dreamed with a brush in her hand, would be so proud to know she made it to New York Fashion Week and Miami Fashion Week — not because of connections or shortcuts, but through pure artistry, discipline, and heart. I would tell her that her gift was always enough, and that her journey would inspire others to believe in their own power.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
As a makeup artist, model, entrepreneur, and veteran, I’ve learned that fads usually chase attention, but foundational shifts create lasting impact. Fads are often short-lived — the viral beauty hack, the must-have product of the moment, or the one-season trend. They excite, but they rarely transform.

Foundational shifts, however, move deeper. They influence how we define beauty, how we build brands, and how we show up in the industry. As a veteran, I value discipline and purpose, and I bring that mindset into fashion and beauty — I look for what’s sustainable, empowering, and forward-moving. As an entrepreneur, I study what truly connects with people long-term, not just what sells for a moment. And as a model and makeup artist, I focus on artistry and storytelling that transcend trends, because timeless beauty and authentic representation never go out of style.

For me, the real power is in recognizing when the industry is evolving at its core — and using my platform to align with those lasting movements rather than the fleeting noise.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
Don’t let the R.B.F. fool you — my legacy is built on artistry, entrepreneurship, and heart. People who don’t know me might assume I’m all edge and fashion, but what I’m really leaving behind is a blueprint of resilience, creativity, and determination.

My journey as a makeup artist, model, and entrepreneur has always been about more than just looks or trends. It’s about proving that with pure talent, vision, and consistency, you can create a lasting impact. My legacy isn’t about being untouchable — it’s about showing others that strength and softness can exist together, and that authenticity always outlives the moment.
