Beezy , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
Normal day well the first thing you got to thank God and then you know you got to you know get yourself prepared before you go out in the world because we could be a cruel place. You know what I’m saying and you also have to prepare yourself and you have to let go of emotions before you even walk out the door so I know the day for me is more about making people happy and making the world a better place even when I don’t even feel better you know so but on the flipside of it or normal day for me, man, you know I’m saying I got I got to get out you and I got you know put myself out there more as always as a clothing brand I gotta get out there and just spread the word on me and my business and also while I’m doing it You know give her give her advice to the people you know me so yeah that’s what a normal day like for me

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Beezy Vandross and I come from Alabama mobile in Jackson, Alabama. A lot of people don’t know where Jackson Alabama is. That’s 45 minute north from Mobile, Alabama. I come from the country. You know a lot of people they look at us different because we’re from the south and you know the most people say that we slow and me personally I come from where I come from I like it because it showed me more life show me to be big on family show me the little bad Even when I been two places on the East Coast you know a lot of people ask me like why are you so nice and I’m like man it’s just that southern hospitality I have kids mostly boys me and my mom was born on the same birthday my little sister love so born in November as well my father, his mom and his sister that was born in June so I believe it runs in the family you know having the same birthday month with your love ones I grew up in the church and that’s how I grew up having a passion for music. And I ain’t gonna lie. I took the suits and made a love for fashion as well.. over the years I grew up listening to different artists. My father reminds me all I used to listen to as a kid with Snoop Dogg and I grew up listening to UGK no limit master P I grew up, listening to a lot of cash money, I just grew up listening to a lot of different music like the O’Jays David Ruffin the blues gospel reggae I just like music because music is like therapy for the world.. playing football playing sports basketball baseball later on in high school. I ended up getting a head injury. They come from fighting and I learn my lesson you know so my football dreams went down the window. But for music.I still had the passion for it. /So I started making beats on FL Studios and rapping and singing.
After I graduated That’s when adult life came.. I was having fun. I ended up getting a woman pregnant at the age of 19 but it was a mature woman. She was older than me. You know at least I thought she was mature right not to speak on it too much. At that time I’m still making music as well. Me and a few of my family members and later on around mid 2016 I came over with the name hustlers with ambition right before my mom passed away.. and I was working offshore well I was working on a towboat with barges thanks to my uncle Mike do over the time I was taken care of my mother. I had to find another job. That’s when I got into dredging. You make more money well with me being on that job, I got fired because I didn’t have the right transportation to make it. Later on that’s when I found out my mother was ill. I stayed in the hospital with my mom for two weeks and she later passed after our birthday 7 days after our birthday we shared together and 4 days after my sisters birthday later on that month had to bury her then thanksgiving came around then my son was born the next month and I got married not to my sons mother but to another woman…. So I became to still create music I moved to my favorite place Houston Texas I always wanted to be there just didn’t meet the people I actually wanted to seem like I met the right people I ended up meeting my favorite rappers best friend Mike D from screwed up click I should’ve made that relationship right then but I knew I wasn’t in the right headspace to do so.. later on I kept making music then I got back into my own brand hustlers wit ambition. And started make tshirts and stuff. And the clothing brand went from there so on and so forth. Kept making music dropped a mixtape Hustlers Wit Ambition VL1 to incorporate with my clothing and I’m just steady grinding being a work in progress!

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom and my dad and my grandma really my whole family and community and everybody I meet tells me that they see something in me that I can’t see

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes plenty of times especially after my mom passed away. I wanted to kill myself just so I could see her again. But going through life I notice she’s right here with me and she wants me to be alive and make a change and make a impact for my family and community and that’s just what I’m gonna do

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes I’m always the same I don’t put on no makeup or paint a picture like I got it all together when sometimes in life you don’t. I just like nice things and nice clothes so I look good to feel good.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
Well a lot of people sometimes can take things the wrong way, that’s where the emotional side comes in even myself.. the name itselfs tells you everybody in the world is a hustler in some form or way we have bills to pay so we have to get up every day to get some money to pay our bills right so why are you out here hustling you have to have some form of ambition to keep pushing to keep pushing to get to the goals that you sit for yourself and also pay your bills to take care of your family so that’s why I came up with the name
