Brigge, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Music. Afro-beats is a rhythmic trip I lose myself in. Every song I create is an window to another place and I know my fans love coming along and getting lost with me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
BIO
The incredibly talented African musician Brigge D’rappah, who is from Lagos, Nigeria, has left a lasting impression on the Afrobeats genre. Brigge D’rappah has made a name for himself in the thriving Nigerian music industry with his distinctive fusion of contagious rhythms and lyrical vocals.

Brigge D’rappah creates a compelling and uplifting sonic tapestry by fusing his Afrobeat sound with elements of highlife, juju, and funk while drawing influence from the rich musical traditions of his native Ghana. His music pulses with vitality and transports listeners over boundaries and cultural barriers on a rhythmic trip.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My Mother. She taught me that a person don’t work, don’t eat. I watched her as a single mom do her best to make sure we were always good. And even though she is no longer with us, her work ethic and my passion for music is what keeps me going.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
When my Mother passed away it hurt. I wanted her to see this moment, but I know she’s shining down on me from heaven. It took a while to get back into the studio but my family depends on me now so I have to never give up.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, very much so. I’m open when I’m happy, sad. My fans love I’m so vulnerable and raw with them. We going through this together so I have no choice but to give them my authentic self.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
That my music is meant to build bridges. I love and respect Black American hip hop from a child. That’s why I signed with Madd Pop Records based out of the USA to produce and distribute my next upcoming projects. So people may not understand the pairing, but I really believe our collab with create a legacy that my family can be proud of.
