We’re looking forward to introducing you to Chad Philander. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Chad, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Who are you learning from right now?
Currently learning from my cousin, he has ran a successful business for 10+ years, and now I am working closely with him to understand the in’s and out’s of the business world, and trying to implement everything I learn onto my own business
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello everyone, my name is Chad Philander, I am a digital artist from Cape Town, South Africa. I have been drawing for 20+ years. Currently I am busy building out my art business and YouTube channel, along side this I am filming content to promote my art and business. I think what makes me and my art interesting is my style and how I portray my characters. I am also currently creating my very first art course
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship I have with my wife. I’ve never had someone in my life who believed in my dream as much as I do and who pushing me to continue pursing my dream. She has backed every decision I have made regarding my art and business
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Almost every day, being an artist is hard. But if I had to think of a specific time, I think most recently with the rise of AI, I almost said what is the point of art, but luckily it looks like the opposite is happening, and artists, musicians, actors are fighting back.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My YouTube channel is a project I am committed to, I’ve been sitting with it for 3 years, and I really want to push myself to film content and build my channel. I really want it to be a source of income and support my dream of being a full time artist
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
being scared. I would go all in on my art and content. I would build something and not be afraid of being embarrassed
