An Inspired Chat with Chantel Quailey

Chantel Quailey shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Chantel , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am called to serve and help people in the health and wellness world through food. For a very long time I didn’t feel qualified to do my calling. What really helped me step up to the plate was the fact that God qualifies the called, not vice versa.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi everyone! My name is Chantel Quailey and I am the plant-based chef and educator behind Chantel’s Foodventures! I lost 44 lbs and counting following a plant-based lifestyle and now I help others do the same through cooking tutorials, recipe & meal ideas, weekly health and wellness newsletters, and more! My main goal with this brand is to inspire others to eat healthily without compromising flavor or excitement.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with Jesus honestly and truly shaped the way I see myself now. I didn’t always view myself in such a positive confident light. Having His promises like “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”, “God loves me just because”, “God chose me”, and “God molded me in his image”, helped me grow my confidence and let my light shine more.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me quite a few things that success never could, but the ones that stand out the most to me are; through every storm God is faithful, a strong community of people who love you can get you through anything, and being out in nature is the best medicine.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my close friends would say that kindness and generosity matter to me. I make it my duty to be kind and generous towards others. This world can be very harsh and taxing, so I try to be that glimmer of hope wherever I go because you really don’t know what people are silently going through.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I would stop living small and in fear. I would focus on the things and the people I love and actually start living life instead of just being alive.
