We’re looking forward to introducing you to Cheyenne Allen. Check out our conversation below.
Cheyenne, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I’m actually a dance teacher! I teach both ballet and hip hop during the week.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dr. Cheyenne Allen, physical therapist for babies and young children. I teach concerned parents how to help their child reach goals and milestones through exercise, education, and encouragement. I became a PT in 2018 and started my own business in 2022. “Milestones Therapy and Wellness” offers both in office and in home PT, OT, and wellness services- we do an evaluation to figure out what’s going on with your child, make goals, and set a plan to reach those goals. My main goal is that parents feel confident in how to help their child succeed. We are currently in our brand new office space and working on is supporting mommas through group classes.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
Although no one in my family has had their own business, I had a dance teacher who taught me so many things about life and work ethic by being on a competitive team. Showing up for yourself and your team then is how I try to show up today.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could talk to my younger self, I would say, “it’s okay people tell you that you’re bossy and have a lot to say. It will help you run your own dang business when you’re older.”
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
MTW has three pillars: exercise, education, and encouragement. I strongly believe that parents know what is best for their child and following their gut is the best answer. We don’t know what we don’t know, and I want to help fill in that gap. Providing education classes online and in person that help parents dig deeper into what they think is going on, provide them a place to ask more questions so they continue being the best parent they can be.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Oh my goodness, I absolutely adore what I do. Having my business allows me to treat the patients I am most passionate about while also taking time to be with my family. I am truly excited to share what I’ve learned form various conferences and classes to help the smallest of patients be set up for a lifetime of success. It never gets old holding a newborn baby.
