An Inspired Chat with Diego Diaz-Cooper

We recently had the chance to connect with Diego Diaz-Cooper and have shared our conversation below.

Diego, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
What I am chasing is something “Greater” for myself. Taking each and every single day, day by day, and building towards a better tomorrow and a promising future. Learning new skills and growing and different aspects of life to better myself as a person, to serve as a resource for my community. If I were to stop, become complacent about my dreams and aspirations, I believe all momentum will be lost, and I would be giving into failure. Making my life fall more into a “what if” scenario rather than “what could’ve been.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello everyone, my name is Diego Diaz-Cooper and I’m a 23-year-old inspiring and growing Influencer located in Silver Spring, MD. Throughout my upbringing, I’ve always had a passion for expression and creation.

A deep passion for expression and creation through different avenues present to contribute towards building up communities and putting good out into the world. I’ve been able to accomplish my aspirations of being a growing Influencer through notable social media platforms such as: Instagram (@dcoop._ | @dcoop_world), TikTok (@dcoop_world), and my YouTube channel (@Dcoop World).

These platforms have allowed me to be creative and express my ideas to a wide range audience, where they’re able to enjoy and connect with my content and persona, which consists of inspirational, insightful, entertaining, and comedic value. My content ranges from sports, informal discussion, and motivation through the means of videography, photography, and public discourse. To reach this point of success I’ve achieved thus far, I’ve always had to stay disciplined and determined. Despite the trials, tribulations, and hardships life has thrown my way and the criticism I’ve received from peers, I’ve always kept my head held high and persevered through it all. Taking every single day, day by day, and building towards where I want to be.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A specific moment that shaped the way I see the world was when my mother passed away. Someone so significantly close to me and someone I saw/ spoke to every single day, no longer being here physically, was definitely rough and one of the hardest moments of my life thus far. My mother was my support system and #1 supporter, always there to cheer me on throughout whatever endeavors I sought out for myself. She taught me what true hard work looked like and instilled quality morals and values within me that I carry with me for the rest of my life. Her unfortunate passing served as a reminder to me that the world can be cruel and unforgiving, but life is something to cherish at the end of the day. This specific moment taught me that the world/ life may have its trials and tribulations, but making the most of every single day, living your life the way you find accordingly, is the ultimate task at hand. This moment emphasized to me to make the most of life and to live life without any regrets.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been numerous times through my journey of life and as an Influencer that I wanted to give up, I just believe that’s the way humans and initially wired. We as people tend to give up when “the going gets tough” or when we don’t see and get instant gratification. People can be very self-centered. But what keeps me grounded and level-headed through moments of adversity are the self-reminders I live my life by, which are “if it were easy, everyone would do it” and that “I’ve already started what I sought out for myself, so might as well keep going to see how far it takes me.” These self-reminders help get me through moments of adversity, stress, turmoil, and creative blocks in order to continue building towards my aspirations and keep me motivated as “good things take some time.”

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I would definitely say that my public version, either in person or virtually, is a real depiction of myself, as on my platforms, I strive to display the real and authentic aspects of my life and aspirations to my intended audience. I display myself the way I would want others to display themselves to me. I aim to show my authenticity and true character amongst my everyday interactions and social media platforms for people to get a real glimpse into my character and personality, to form a connection, either with my character or through my content.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When my time is up, physically on this world, I would like my story that people tell to be that “Diego Diaz-Cooper was a good person and someone who strived for the betterment of himself and others.” He’s someone who motivated and drove himself and others to achieve and succeed in whatever avenue life has for them. He was someone who showed true passion and compassion in whatever he did and someone who wanted to be a resource and change communities. But ultimately, he was someone who showed love when it was either necessary or unnecessary, and he was someone who “lived life to the fullest,” without any regrets.
