An Inspired Chat with Drea Sade of Houston

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Drea Sade. Check out our conversation below.

Drea, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something that’s been bringing me a lot of joy outside of work is reconnecting with my spiritual routines purely for myself, not for teaching or creating. Simple practices like journaling, lighting a candle, or setting intentions have been deeply fulfilling and remind me that alignment and joy start internally before they show up externally.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Drea Sade, and I am the founder of Moonlight Oracle LLC. I am a third generation Hoodoo practitioner, spiritual educator, and intuitive reader who helps people gain clarity, protection, and alignment through grounded spiritual work.

Moonlight Oracle is more than a spiritual brand. It is a space rooted in tradition, integrity, and real life experience. I blend ancestral knowledge, practical spirituality, and modern insight to support people navigating love, money, healing, and personal transformation. What makes my work unique is that it is not about shortcuts or fantasy. It is about empowering people to understand their energy, make informed choices, and take responsibility for their spiritual path.

My journey into this work was not something I chose lightly. It comes from lineage, lived experience, and years of personal growth. I have spent much of my life balancing spirituality with responsibility by being a mother, building a business, and showing up authentically even during challenging seasons. That balance is reflected in everything I create.

Currently, I am focused on expanding Moonlight Oracle through education, digital offerings, and long term plans for a brick and mortar spiritual space. Everything I work on is designed to be accessible, honest, and rooted in purpose, helping people reconnect with themselves while honoring where they come from.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
A part of me that has served its purpose and now needs to be released is the version of myself that felt the need to overextend in order to be accepted or understood. For a long time, I carried the belief that I had to explain myself, prove my worth, or soften my boundaries to make others comfortable. That mindset helped me survive and navigate earlier stages of my life, but it no longer aligns with who I am becoming.

Releasing that part of myself has created space for deeper alignment, clearer boundaries, and more intentional energy. I am learning that authenticity does not require justification and that growth sometimes means honoring what once protected you while allowing it to fall away when it is no longer needed.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me discernment. It taught me how to sit with discomfort, listen to my intuition, and recognize what is truly aligned versus what simply looks good on the surface. Success can validate you, but suffering strips things down and shows you who you are when there is nothing to perform for.

Through difficult seasons, I learned patience, self trust, and compassion for others moving through their own struggles. Those lessons reshaped how I lead, create, and connect with people. Success may open doors, but suffering teaches you how to walk through them with humility, clarity, and purpose.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the spiritual industry is that transformation should be instant or effortless. There is a narrative that alignment means ease at all times, or that spiritual work can bypass accountability, healing, and personal responsibility. In reality, meaningful transformation takes consistency, self awareness, and often discomfort.

Another common misconception is that spirituality exists separately from structure or discipline. Many people believe intuition alone is enough, but true spiritual integrity requires grounding, ethics, boundaries, and real life application. Without those elements, spirituality can become performative rather than transformative.

I believe the most honest spiritual work encourages people to grow, not escape. It invites reflection, responsibility, and alignment with both the spiritual and the practical aspects of life.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand deeply that clarity often comes after stillness, not effort. Many people believe answers are found through constant movement, noise, or external validation, but I have learned that listening, pausing, and observing are just as powerful as action. When you slow down enough to hear yourself, things that once felt confusing begin to make sense.

I also understand that growth is not always visible or linear. Some of the most important shifts happen quietly, internally, long before anything changes on the outside. Trusting that process requires patience and self awareness, but it is often where the most meaningful transformation begins.
