We recently had the chance to connect with Gorica Regodic and have shared our conversation below.
Gorica, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: When was the last time you felt true joy?
Firstly- oh so many great questions to choose from.
This question popped out the most, probably because it made me realize that it was today!
Besides acting I’m involved in a lot of different endeavors, music being the main. Today we were recording drums for a song that seemed impossible to record, aaaand we did it! One step closer to a new release, and one step closer to an album.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Of course, my name is Gorica Regodic and I’m an actress from Serbia. In addition to acting (Hellraiser, Next to Me, Next to Us, Infiltration, Vampire..) I am into a lot of things. I’m hooked to creating. So let’s begin- currently I’m writing, singing (band The Parents), juggling, painting, and recently I started an up-cycle store on Instagram (Imam_swaga), where I’m selling clothes I draw, embroid and sew on, and belts that I make (sewn or woven).
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
It’s funny, I truly believe that I knew who I was better when I was a teenager than now. It was easier to say no, no need to work on your patience when you’re a kid, right? I realized this a few years ago, now glad for all the work done on myself.
Really glad that I didn’t believe what people tried to convince me I was. When I was a kid, I didn’t fit in anywhere, or at least that’s how I felt. As a teen I decided that I belong where I want to. No one has the right to make that decision in my name, not even the world.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of making a mistake. Now- I realize that mistakes are the main bricks of growing and creating. I feel much lighter thanks to that paradigm shift.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
It is definitely a version of me. We can’t control how all the people will react to us, everyone notices something else, everyone has different experiences etc. Things that make us sweet in one’s eyes could make us sour in other’s.
So, even if you try really hard to present yourself differently from who you are- someone will see that.
Isn’t it better to be authentic, be yourself, be honest with yourself.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Well, if we don’t change our priorities collectively – living. I don’t see paying it off if we have no clean, drinkable water, and healthy air, because of a minority that has monopoly. Money isn’t more important than life.
