We recently had the chance to connect with Harut Sassounian and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Harut, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Read my hundreds of emails.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I have two jobs:
1) I publish The California Courier online newsletter.
2) I am the President of a charity, Armenia Artsakh Fund.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
People treat disagreements as enmity. Having different opinions or disagreements are normal. Everyone should feel free to express their opinions without getting involved in a dispute. You can agree to disagree or disagree without being disagreeable.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
No, I never give up. I am very stubborn. Once I put something in my head, I pursue it to the bitter end. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. My motto is: Never give up, never give in.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I am an extremely honest person. What I say is what I think. I am on the outside what i am on the inside. What you see is what you get.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop arguing with people. Life is too short to waste it on arguments.
