An Inspired Chat with Heather Roma Wicks

Heather Roma Wicks shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Heather , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
We live on a small ranch and have small children so the first 90 minutes of my day, there’s so much that happens!
Wake up to the dogs barking so they can go chase coyotes probably.
Have my Promix Debloat drink. Best way to get my digestive system going!
Grab food for our tortoise and head down to feed all the animals with my 3 and 5 year old.
Kiss the horses, feed them their hay. Same with the donkeys.
Feed the cats, tortoise, chickens and dogs.
Come in, make breakfast for the kids and protein coffee for myself.
Get some work and emails done.
Then start getting ready for the day!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a trailblazing entrepreneur and influencer with decades of experience in the fashion, wellness, social media, and marketing industries. My emphasis on healthy living can be seen by my partnership and collaboration choices which include like-minded, ethical, and all-natural brands. My properties in Topanga and Morongo Valley serve as the backdrop for many events and photoshoots.

In the past, I was Founder of the wildly successful marketing agency, The Westside Collective. I helped brands level up for over 9 years and became a trusted resource for content creation. brand marketing and marketing referrals.

Today, I am the owner Beer Burros & Brands; rescue burros attending events and weddings and a private Brunch Burros experience on our ranch in the desert.

Lupasamama; offering mushroom and horse medicine ceremonies. I am also Reiki certified and am an owner at Sacred Woman Collective Hi Desert Branch where I host monthly Sunset Circles and women’s retreats.

As an influencer, I have collaborated with leading lifestyle brands such as Philosophie, Lorna Murray, Ranch Road Boots, Sezane, Wildling Beauty, Seatopia and many others. I am well-respected for my aesthetically beautiful content and I have a passion for visual story telling.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
It’s a bit of a funny one because I was naked. I was in our “front yard” (which was a private beach in St. Croix Virgin Islands). I was standing with my feet in the sand at the break of the water, watching the two Crusian men swim their horse. They did this often. I remember feeling so grounded and at one with it all. Full circle now after the hustle and bustle of a life in fashion and marketing, I am now offering healing horse ceremonies and found my spirit name just last year; Wading White Horse Woman.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the biggest things I have healed is the need to stay quiet. Growing up it was seen as a bad thing to talk about your feelings. Or to try and better yourself. There must be something wrong with you if you have to fix things; right? Well no, is what I came to learn. We are here on Earth in the school of life and learning and growing is what we came here to do. Sitting in circles of women at our retreats has taught me this and I am on a mission to break that generational trauma by holding space in this way for women and even for the littlest beings starting at age 2 at my yearly Generational Goddesses mommy and me retreat.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! I am so open and honest and authentically me. It’s the only way to be!

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope that people remember the beautiful spaces I create and feel so held and seen in those spaces. That I created a place where women could be authentically themselves and so connected to the oneness of this universe.
