Janae, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
“I’m on a relentless pursuit to become the best version of myself, every single day! Committing to personal growth is no easy feat—it comes with its challenges. My journey began with one important step: prioritizing myself.
Stopping isn’t an option!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“I am an award-winning esthetician, skin artist, speaker, and instructor passionate about helping others achieve their best skin. For the past ten years, I have been a caregiver to my father, who has dementia. It’s been an emotional journey, filled with challenges, but through it all, I have felt the strength of a higher power guiding me. Just as the poem ‘Footprints’ illustrates, it is God who carries me through the toughest times.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
“My father instilled in me invaluable lessons about work ethic, integrity, grit, and the importance of being true to your word. What you do today not only shapes your tomorrow but also defines your character.”
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“I would advise my younger self: remember, you always have choices. Every decision you make shapes your path forward.”
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
“I may be a bit shy and lean towards introversion, but my passion for what I do has pushed me to step into the spotlight!
