We’re looking forward to introducing you to Joshua Stewart. Check out our conversation below.
Joshua, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Honestly, what I’m most proud of building — that nobody sees — is my resilience. There have been moments when I wanted to stop, when the pressure, doubt, or feeling of being misunderstood that comes with creating felt heavier than the reward. But I kept going. I’ve built this quiet discipline and belief that even when no one’s watching, the music I’m creating matters. ‘Solitude’ came out of that space — of pushing through silence, trusting that the songs could one day speak for someone who doesn’t have the words. I’m proud of that unseen strength, because it’s what allows the music to exist in the first place.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Joshua Stewart — I’m a singer, songwriter, and producer. My music blends faith, emotion, and storytelling to create music that speaks to real human experiences — especially those quiet, in-between moments we all go through. What makes my brand and music unique is that it’s not just about sound, it’s about sincerity. Every lyric, every melody comes from a real place. Every sound is a story. I worked releasing my sophomore album, Solitude, which explores what it means to find peace, purpose, and God’s presence even when you feel alone. It’s deeply personal, but I believe it’s something a lot of people will connect with.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Without a doubt, my parents saw me clearly long before I could see myself. From a young age, they recognized something in me — a spark, a sense of purpose — and they poured into it consistently. They nurtured my love for music before I even knew what it could become. When I was just experimenting with sounds or writing little melodies, they treated it like it mattered. They believed in me when others sometimes did not.
There were seasons when I questioned if I was on the right path or if what I was creating really mattered, and in those moments, their encouragement grounded me. They reminded me of who I was and what I was called to do. Looking back now, I realize that their faith built the foundation for my resilience and creativity. A lot of who I am as an artist today comes from the seeds they planted years ago — faith, discipline, and a quiet belief that my gifts have meaning beyond me.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that’s held me back the most has been wondering if people would actually listen to my music — if what I create would truly reach anyone. As an artist, you pour so much of yourself into your work, but there’s always that voice in the back of your mind asking, ‘Will this connect? Will anyone care?’ For a long time, that fear made me hesitate — it kept me from releasing songs, from sharing ideas, from fully trusting the process.
But over time, I’ve learned that the value of my music isn’t measured by numbers or recognition; it’s in the impact it has on even one person who hears it at the right time. Once I stopped creating for validation and started creating from honesty, everything changed. That fear still tries to whisper sometimes, but I’ve learned to move through it — because the message behind my music is bigger than my doubt.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A belief I’m committed to — no matter how long it takes — is that God will always make a way. That’s been the foundation of my journey as an artist. There have been so many moments when I didn’t know how things were going to work out — whether it was resources, timing, or just the right doors opening. But every time, God has shown up in ways I couldn’t have planned.
That belief is what inspired one of the songs on my new project, Solitude, called ‘Making Ways.’ It talks about how God breaks down walls and parts seas — not just in a literal sense, but in our everyday struggles. It’s about trusting that even when you can’t see the path ahead, He’s already clearing it for you.
No matter how long it takes, I’ll keep holding on to that belief. Because it’s not just about releasing music — it’s about walking in faith and letting my songs be a reflection of God’s faithfulness in my own life.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people will say that I was someone who stayed true to my creative self — that I never compromised who I was just to fit in or chase trends. I want to be remembered as someone who kept going, even when it would’ve been easier to stop. There have been moments of doubt and silence, but through it all, I’ve held onto my purpose: to tell stories through music — my story, and the stories of others who might not have the words to express what they’re feeling.
My hope is that the songs I’ve made will continue to live beyond me — that they’ll remind people that it’s okay to feel, to question, to hope, and to believe again. I want people to remember me as an artist who poured his heart into everything he created, who believed in the power of honesty and faith.
If my legacy can be that I never gave up on the dream God placed inside me, that I used my music to bring light, healing, and understanding to others — then I’ll know I lived out my purpose.
