An Inspired Chat with Kafele Herring

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kafele Herring. Check out our conversation below.

Kafele, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
Awake at 2:30am – 2 workouts – 4 goals accomplished in my business – enjoying fatherhood – devoted husband – improving on my mind, body & legacy.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kafele Herring, founder of thebespoketraveler, a global luxury travel brand redefining how professional athletes and high-performing travelers experience the world.

Before building this brand, I spent over a decade training NFL and Major League Baseball athletes, a career that taught me discipline, recovery, and the value of precision. I later brought that same focus into real estate and design, developing and renovating vacation homes across Atlanta, Miami, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico for those very same athletes.

Today, those worlds come together through thebespoketraveler, where I explore the intersection of luxury hospitality, wellness, adventure, and culture while capturing how professional athletes travel when the cameras are off. As I expand across Southeast Asia and the Caribbean, my work continues to tell one story: true luxury is not about excess; it is about access, intention, and experience.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents, without question. They never complained, never called in sick, and always showed up on time with pride in what they did. Maybe it was because they had three children to raise, but for me, it became the standard for how life should be lived.

They taught me that if you put in the work, success and everything you desire will eventually come. They never cut corners, never left a problem unsolved, and always found a way forward. That mindset shaped everything I do today, whether I am training athletes, managing properties, or creating travel experiences. It is about consistency, integrity, and solving challenges with purpose.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self that who you are and what you’re doing is completely fine. There’s nothing wrong with being different or moving at your own pace. Stay on your path and trust that it’s leading exactly where you need to go. One day, you’ll look back and thank yourself for never changing to fit in and for having the courage to stay true to who you are.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They’d say my family and building a legacy through excellence. I care about mastering my craft and pushing limits in everything I do. It’s not about recognition; it’s about setting a new standard and leaving something that lasts. Every move I make is about purpose, legacy, and raising the bar higher than before.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Funny how life works. We all start with childhood dreams, and somewhere along the way life either redirects us or brings us full circle. I truly believe I’m doing exactly what I was born to do. Every obstacle, every win, every pivot led me here. There’s an energy and a happiness that’s hard to explain — it’s something you feel every day when you’re aligned with your purpose. I’ve always been a bit of a rebel; I never followed the script or did what people told me to do. I had to find my own lane, and that made all the difference.
