Karen Romine shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Karen, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I used to dread speaking in front of an audience. Even with decades of experience, imposter syndrome would creep in the moment I imagined stepping on stage.
That changed when I began speaking about something that truly excites me: the intersection of AI-driven data, strategic thinking, and intuition. The more I immersed myself in that space, the more the fear faded. Passion gave me focus. The nerves didn’t disappear, but they stopped getting the final word in a way. Now those nerves serve a different purpose. That edge reminds me that I care about my message, that it matters. It sharpens my presence, keeps me grounded, and helps me connect more honestly with the room. I’ve come to see nerves not as a problem to solve, but as a signal that I’m stepping into something real.
This intersection of AI, strategy and intuition isn’t just compelling, I feel it is alive with possibility. When leaders learn to balance evidence, foresight, and inner judgment, their decisions become clearer and more resilient. I’ve seen how powerful that alignment can be, and I’m energized every time I get to share it.
Speaking still challenges me, but the subject pulls me forward. The message matters more than the fear.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Karen Romine, a Strategic Intelligence Expert, Certified Psychic Medium, speaker and author. My work lives at the intersection of intuition, strategy, and AI-driven data. I am honored to help leaders and organizations make decisions that are both soul-aligned and strategically sound.
What makes my brand unique is that I bridge two worlds that rarely meet. I spent over 30 years in corporate America navigating acquisitions, strategy, and leadership. Later, I trained as a certified international psychic medium and forensic psychic investigator, even partnering with law enforcement to help in missing persons cases. Today, I’ve brought those threads together into a framework I call The Intuition + Intelligence Code™, which empowers leaders to scale only what is truly aligned.
I’ve been honored to speak at events like Own It 2025 in Las Vegas and to work with renowned leaders as a speaker. Most recently, I’m preparing to launch my upcoming book, “The Future of Decisive Choice: Bio-Hacking Your Mind With AI (Fall 2025), which offers a practical roadmap for leaders who want clarity and confidence in their choices.
At the heart of it, my story is about turning fear into fuel and showing others how to trust both their instincts and their intelligence. My mission is to prove that when you combine soul and strategy, you do more than succeed, you transform how you lead and live.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed my voice didn’t matter. I grew up in the 60s, when it was normal for children to be seen and not heard. In third grade, I was sent to the principal’s office for talking too much, and on nearly every report card it was marked as a negative that I “talked a lot.”
When I shared my creative ideas about who I wanted to be or where I wanted to go, I was often met with discouraging words. I wasn’t a traditionalist, and because of that, I wasn’t always understood.
For years, I carried that belief, silencing myself in rooms where I had ideas, insights, or even just a desire to be heard. But what I once saw as a weakness has become my calling.
Today, my voice is the heart of my work. Whether I’m on stage speaking to leaders about integrating AI, strategy, and intuition, or guiding people to trust their own inner wisdom, I am trusting my voice.
What I once tried to shrink is now the very thing I stand on. My voice is my essence.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up. I reached a point in my business where the weight of everything felt unbearable. The to-do list never seemed to end, the pressure to keep everything moving forward was constant, and I was running on fumes. From the outside, people probably saw growth and progress. But inside, I was completely burnt out. I had been pouring into everyone and everything else without ever truly taking care of myself. And when you do that long enough, it starts to feel like quitting might be easier than continuing.
I remember feeling like I was drowning in details. Every email, every decision, every moving part felt urgent. I lost all perspective on the bigger picture and could only see what wasn’t working. It was a season where overwhelm clouded any sense of joy or purpose. I wasn’t sleeping well, I was skipping meals, and I had reduced “breakfast” to a cup of coffee that lasted me till mid afternoon. Looking back, it’s no wonder I almost walked away.
What pulled me through wasn’t some grand realization or even reconnecting with my “why.” It was something much simpler, but far more powerful. I changed my mornings. I decided to stop starting my day already behind. Instead, I began putting myself first. I committed to walking at least two miles every morning, giving my body and mind space to move and reset before I faced the demands of the day. I meditate, not for hours, but long enough to quiet the noise and anchor myself. I practice affirmations and visualization, reminding myself of who I wanted to be, not just what I had to do. And I make sure I fuel my body with a healthy breakfast instead of just coffee, because the way you start matters more than we realize.
That routine has become my lifeline. I still have the challenges of running a business, but it gives me the energy and clarity to handle them differently. It reminds me that if I’m not well, nothing I build will be sustainable. Over time, these mornings have rebuilt my resilience. They turned the chaos into something I could navigate with more grace. And ultimately, they kept me from giving up when I was closest to walking away.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
There are many cultural values I would protect at all costs. On that rises to the top is authenticity in leadership. I grew up under pressure to meet expectations that ignored who I was. I learned what it means to be misunderstood and discouraged from expressing myself fully. I was hesitating to fully and honestly express myself, it was a struggle. That experience shaped my conviction that real leadership starts with being honest about who you are.
Authenticity demands honesty, consistency, and integrity, even when that makes things harder. Leaders need to speak plainly, own what they don’t know, and foster spaces where others can do the same. Authenticity builds the trust that people and organizations need to thrive.
I’ve seen how quickly inauthenticity weakens relationships, teams, and entire institutions. When people sense they’re being managed by image instead of truth, they disengage. They hold back insight that could move the group forward. Protecting authenticity means creating space where people are recognized for their substance, not their performance.
Authenticity also fuels courage. It helps leaders make long-term decisions that won’t always win approval. It encourages original thinking, because people know they’re not punished for seeing things differently. It builds resilience. Authentic leaders don’t collapse under criticism or reach for trends to prove themselves. They lead with focus.
I hold this value closely because I’ve lived both sides of it, staying silent to be accepted, and speaking honestly to make a difference. I don’t see authenticity as a leadership style. I see it as a requirement.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
What I’m doing today that won’t pay off for 7 to 10 years is laying the foundation for a movement in how people make decisions. I’m building a membership community to educate people at a deeper level about their decision-making. I’m also writing my book, “The Future of Decisive Choice: Bio-Hacking Your Mind With AI”, which expands on what I speak about: the integration of data-driven AI, strategy, and intuition.
AI will continue to grow and evolve. Strategy will always be required. And intuition? Every single person has it! It’s like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it becomes. But strengthening it takes time and commitment. What I’m investing in now is helping people learn how to work that muscle so they can trust themselves and their choices at a whole new level. I want to provide the tools and a structure to start the process.
The real payoff won’t be immediate. It will be the ripple effect of people leading differently, businesses operating with more alignment, and individuals making decisions that improve not just their own lives, but the world around them. That’s the long game I’m committed to. And truthfully, I’m glad it won’t pay off all at once. I don’t want it to end. I want it to keep growing, evolving, and creating a greater impact long after I’m gone.
