We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kristi Eaton. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Kristi, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My first 90 minutes of my day include an early morning walk in my neighborhood followed by a stretching session. It’s a great time to think and reflect on the previous day and think about the day ahead.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kristi, and I am a former long-time journalist/storyteller turned public relations professional. I opened my own agency about 2.5 years ago and really enjoy it. ke comms focuses on working with mission-driven clients who want to make a difference. I’m always looking for more clients who want media coverage to amplify their message and vision so please get in touch if this is you or someone you know.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I think my mom taught me the most about work. She was a teacher for over 40 years and was very dedicated to the field. She took great pride in teaching her students and watching them succeed. She also worked incredibly hard. After working eight hours or more in the classroom, she would come home and grade papers at night late into the night. I learned that work doesn’t always stop at 5 p.m.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to trust yourself more and your abilities. While there have been several ‘OMG – what will I do moments,’ things tend to work out because I’m methodical, conscientious and a hard worker who strives to be a good colleague and contact for people.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my friends would say equity, equality and aligned values are what matters most to me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m on a long walk thinking about the day or what’s going on with my life – relationships, friendships and family.
