An Inspired Chat with Krystle Robinson-Hershey of Oklahoma City, OK

Krystle Robinson-Hershey shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Krystle , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I truly enjoy taking a deep breath, Ingest 30-40 plants and herbs each morning.
I reflect by watching nature, then I drink water, and go to the gym.
My final moments include listening to inspirational and powerful messages.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Krystle Robinson-Hershey I am the owner of Sage & Elm Apothecary. Sage & Elm Apothecary is a plant based company, we create over 400 products from plants. Our product catalog includes bars of soap, rose waters, clays, shampoos, conditioners, oils and more! Here at Sage & Elm Apothecary creates from a unique cultural perspective filled with nourishing hydration, and plant benefits. We have premiered our new perfume and cologne bar to create your own custom scent.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I once had an opportunity to sit with indigenous elders. As I sat with them, I was offered to enter into their traditional housing, I HAD the most beautiful experience, a deer came and sat in my lap. We shared such an enlightening time and many oral histories and experiences while together.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped allowing the pain of neurodivergence and grief to hold me back. I decided to allow it to motivate and empower others through the strengths and endless possibilities it contains. My ability to process information quickly, as well as heal through sharing my experiences.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say authenticity, character, and faith mean so much to me. The way we treat others is a stain on their lives and others. So stain can be beautiful in color like painting. others can be messy and painful. We must try to choose our staining abilities wisely.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am absolutely walking in my calling. I was previously going to school to be a doctor. When life clearly whispered a different plan for me. Every career, education and skillset is allowed to flourish in my current career at Sage & Elm Apothecary, and people constantly telling me “please don’t stop we need you, you are changing lives”.
