Lai, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity is the most important for me. People respect me, trust me and I can Live with myself.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
For example: In a couple when one of them is unfaithful or a compulsive liar.

With friends is when one friend criticizes or betrays you behind your back.

Restoring faith is very difficult, but it can be done with time, forgiveness and a promise

that the person will never do it again

Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
I used to confide mostly in my grandmother. She never criticized me or got angry. If I said or did something silly, she would advise how to fix it.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Mother Theresa very much because she was very humble and she dedicated her life to help people that had no help from anybody else.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel very peaceful when I am in a church, temple or a holly place like Fatima in Portugal
