We’re looking forward to introducing you to Larmani . Check out our conversation below.
Larmani , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, joy has found me in the little things—sunlight on my skin, late-night drives with the windows down, and moments of stillness where I can just be. I’ve been reconnecting with nature and spending more time journaling, dancing, and laughing with people who feel like home. As much as I love creating and performing, it’s those quiet, soulful moments outside of the spotlight that keep me grounded and inspired
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey, I’m Larmani — an independent recording artist, performer, and storyteller. My music blends vulnerability, confidence, and a bit of drama, all wrapped in a signature nude pink aesthetic. I was raised between Tampa, New York, and Jamaica, so my sound carries layers of soul, culture, and resilience. I create for people who feel deeply but still walk in their power — even when it hurts.
Right now, I’m in a season of growth, both creatively and personally. I just released a new single called ‘Sunkissed’ — it’s a warm, radiant anthem about reclaiming joy. And I’m gearing up to drop ‘Undercover,’ a moodier, more mysterious follow-up that still keeps things soft but strong. Through everything I make, my goal is to help people feel seen and empowered, one lyric and one look at a time
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to fit into a certain formula — be who people expected me to be, move the way they said was right. But as I’ve grown, I’ve learned that life isn’t linear and neither is growth. It’s not about checking boxes — it’s about seizing each moment, learning what you need from it, and staying rooted in your truth, even when it goes against the grain
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the defining wounds of my life has been the feeling of disappointing the people I love — especially when my desires, identity, or path didn’t align with their expectations. Choosing myself often came with guilt, like I was letting them down just by being honest about who I am and what I need. But over time, I’ve learned that self-betrayal is a deeper wound than disappointing others. Healing has looked like honoring my truth, even when it’s misunderstood, and trusting that the right people will love me more for choosing authenticity over approval.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to telling the truth — even when it’s uncomfortable, even when it takes time to be heard. Whether it’s in music, visuals, or storytelling, I’m building something that lasts beyond the moment. I’m not here for virality, I’m here for impact.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m creating — when the world fades and it’s just me, my voice, and whatever emotion needs to come out. Whether I’m writing lyrics at midnight or performing under stage lights, there’s this calm that washes over me when I’m fully in my element. Music gives me a place to release what I can’t always say out loud. It’s where I feel free, powerful, and most connected to myself
