An Inspired Chat with Latika Vines of Maryland

We recently had the chance to connect with Latika Vines and have shared our conversation below.

Latika, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
As a recent licensed Evangelist, God has called me to witness to those individuals who have been hurt, rejected, and abandoned by religion. Using my own trials and struggles of being abandoned by religion and how it left me isolated, restarting my life, gaining new friends, move towns, and much more, to only fall in love with my Lord and Savior, is what I am to help the many who are in need of being loved and feeling forgiven so they can finally feel fulfillment, joy, and happiness – which only comes from our Heavenly Father!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Latika Vines is a visionary leader, working mom of four, and founder of Visionary Initiatives, LLC—a faith-centered career and workforce development organization committed to empowering working moms to thrive in their careers, homes, and lives.

With over 17 years of experience in training, employee engagement, and leadership development, Latika combines professional expertise with spiritual wisdom to help women align their purpose with their profession. After navigating postpartum depression and struggling to balance her own career and motherhood, Latika was called to create a space where working moms could rise with clarity, confidence, and Christ at the center.

Through coaching, corporate consulting, and community, Visionary Initiatives, LLC equips both women and workplaces to build faith-rooted equity, sustainable success, and lives that reflect purpose—not pressure

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
God saw me before I could see myself.

Growing up, I didn’t feel seen. I didn’t feel appreciated internally or externally. From birth, I was neglected and abandoned and I carried that into adulthood, even marriage, even giving birth to my first child. I was known for making mistakes. I was known for not keeping my word. And even though I proved others wrong, I still wasn’t seen/felt seen.

I didn’t think I was enough. And I felt that I had to prove myself to others to be accepted.

But GOD!

God showed me through His love that I am enough in Him. He showed me that He loves me and never has forsaken me – He has never left me even though others have. He believed in me to be a mother. He believed in me to be a wife. He believed in me enough to carry me through life’s challenges, even when I felt empty. He filled me up!

God saw me even when I couldn’t see myself.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The most defining wound of my life is understanding that the neglect, rejection, and abandonment experienced, wasn’t for me to keep but for me to share with the world. From birth, I was not loved by the ones I desired it from. It took therapy and vulnerability in therapy for me to understand that I did receive love. It may not have been from those who I desired, but God gave me love through those He ordained to give me love. And I am forever grateful for the love of those who sacrificed for me.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie I hear is that working moms are not committed employees. I wholeheartedly disagree with this because working moms are one of the most committed employees any organization can have. Working moms are:
1. Resilient
2. Accountable
3. Loyal
4. Strategic
5. Emotionally Intelligent
6. Committed to Legacy

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m in the mountains because I feel close to God.
