An Inspired Chat with Lori Royce of Palm Beach

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Lori Royce. Check out our conversation below.

Lori, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me looks like> Waking up early to go outside and power walk 3 miles: listening to the birds singing, petting the dogs out for a stroll in my neighborhood that I see along the paths, watching the ducks swim in the waters, meditating while walking and dreaming about all the wonderful things I want to achieve in my life. Once arriving back home it’s time to shower, get dressed for the day, drink 16oz of water immediately with my vitamin supplements, make a healthy nutritious big breakfast/lunch combo ( I only eat one meal a day ), wash up the kitchen and head into my home office to jump on the computer to do extensive marketing for my art business. The time spent in my office usually takes me to about 1pm. Then I stop, shut down my computer, go run some errands (could be personal such as shopping for groceries or business errands such as meeting with potential Clients or business banking or buying art supplies) Home by 3pm to start getting my art gear ready to load into my car and drive over to Art Basil Restaurant in South Florida where I paint LIVE at an easel from 5pm -8pm. By 8:30pm I’ve made some art sales, packed up all my gear and home by 9pm. Then it is bedtime for me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Lori Royce and I paint beach-inspired artwork. The beach is where I feel most calm, joyful, hopeful and peaceful. Capturing all those good feelings onto canvas with my paints and brushes forever preserves those special moments in time. Walking along the ocean’s shoreline invigorates my soul and stimulates my brain. Being so spiritually connected to Mother Nature pulls me into the beach scenery at a higher level and I love when the viewers of my artwork can achieve that same ‘high’ just by looking into one of my coastal paintings. You can visit my artwork in person at Art Basil Italian Restaurant in Manalapan Florida and also at Yve Hotel in Downtown Miami where my beach paintings have taken over the whole Lobby.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Fighting breaks the bond between people. Standing on different ground and very different beliefs breaks those bonds as well. Being stubborn to the point of not communicating at all anymore with loved ones over something unnecessary will break a bond quickly. In my world what I have witnessed as to what can restore people’s faith & kindness in each other and brings people back together is experiencing’The Arts!’ together. Attending an enchanting ballet performance can put an entire audience in a trance. A beautiful evening listening to soft music at a Live concert can restore romance. Watching a vibrant play with brilliant child actors/actresses can bring pleasure & laughter to an entire family of grumpy family members. And of course the Fine Arts. When I’m painting LIVE out in Public out and about in South Florida: just by having people look at & stumble upon my soft seaside & sunrise/sunset paintings, I have witnessed baby’s stopped crying, dogs stopped barking, husbands & wives stopped verbally fighting with each other when looking at one of my coastal paintings and meeting me in person where I not only exhibit my art by also exhibit great finesse in my composure and ability to relax people.

When did you last change your mind about something important?
I changed my mind about something important quite recently. At the end of 2024 I decided that my art career was not moving along as well as I wanted it to. I decided I needed some assistance and couldn’t run my business by myself anymore if I wanted to reach to the top and be truly successful. So after researching many coaching courses I selected one that seemed the right fit for me, scheduled a call with the Founder, and decided Not to join the course. Shortly into the year 2025 I had a talk with myself, while walking on the beach of course, and asked myself “Lori, how will you feel about your art career one year from now if absolutely nothing changes in your business to make it better?” My answer was an easy “I will feel horrible, poor, miserable and not happy at all.” At that moment I drastically changed my mind. I scheduled another call with the Founder of that coaching course and joined it February of 2025. Absolutely best important decision I could have ever made for my art career.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
100% Yes!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand deeply that Life is worth living. Live it well! Being happy, being kind to others, making intelligent life decisions, not acting foolish (it’s a waste of time & expensive), staying healthy (it’s a necessary job in itself so don’t be lazy about it) and realizing that we all have something wonderful to offer to our ourselves and to contribute to this world to make it a better place. I understand that I was born with a precious gift of natural talent and that I needed to chase my spirit and see where it leads me. Most people are also born with precious gifts of talent yet don’t chase their spirit, rather pushing it away to further pursue the mundane practical ways of financially supporting themselves but give up their spirit altogether. Once you realize the reason you are here on this earth and find your spirit, hang onto it!! That is what Life is all about!
