An Inspired Chat with McKenzie Victory of Midtown Tulsa

McKenzie Victory shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning McKenzie, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
My mornings start with my little rituals—skincare, teeth brushed, hair done, and a cozy breakfast (plus caffeine, of course). Then it’s off to the clinic, where I get to pour into my clients with facials, waxing, and lash + brow services.

Some days I squeeze in a gym session before heading in, some days, I have to go afterwork, but as long as I get in my steps lol!

Evenings are my favorite—finding a satiating dinner , possibly accompanied by a sweet treat, slipping back into stillness. I unwind with warm tea, a bath or shower, my nighttime skincare, and my comfiest pajamas, then to spend time with my boyfriend and watch our favorite show Supernatural, Pure peace. 🤍

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is McKenzie Victory. I’m a licensed aesthetician with three years of experience, and I specialize in results-driven skincare. During my career, I’ve gained hands-on experience across a wide range of services, including Glo2 facials, custom skincare treatments, dermaplaning, full-body waxing, and lash and brow enhancements.

My passion for aesthetics began with my own journey navigating acne, which inspired me to help others better understand their skin and feel confident in it.

I currently work at Magnolia Health in Midtown Tulsa, where my books are open, and I’m excited to continue supporting clients in achieving healthy, glowing skin.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Both of my parents taught me the value of hard work from an early age. Although they are no longer together, they each demonstrated incredible work ethic and unwavering support that has inspired me throughout my life.

There were times when we barely got by, but they always did everything they could to provide. They taught me how to be independent, to work for what I want, and to never rely on others to make my way. Without their guidance and perseverance, I truly don’t know where I would be today.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I’ve learned a lot from my struggles. They’ve taught me resilience and reminded me that without rain, there are never flowers. You have to know pain to truly feel joy—and every hard moment teaches you something.

Mistakes are part of the journey; if you never make any, you’re probably not creating anything worthwhile. It’s okay to go through tough seasons as long as you don’t let them define you. On the other side, you will be stronger, I also love being able to empathize with others that have also suffered and help them how I can.

I’ve also learned that you are ultimately responsible for picking yourself back up. No one else can do that for you. And when you work toward a goal and earn it—rather than winning every time—the fulfillment is so much greater.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest misconceptions in the aesthetics industry is that skincare alone can fix every skin concern. While a good routine can make an incredible difference, it can’t solve issues rooted in hormones, genetics, diet, or other internal factors.

It’s important to give yourself grace and ensure you’re getting information from a trusted professional. As someone who has personally struggled with texture and acne, I’ve tried countless products. Some have become daily staples for me, but I’ve learned that there is no one product or quick fix that works for everyone.

Achieving healthy skin takes time, patience, and consistency—and having a provider who will be honest and supportive throughout that journey makes all the difference.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Absolutely. I’m extremely happy with where I am in the clinic right now—this is truly my dream work environment. For most of my career, I worked independently, and now I have the opportunity to work under a healthcare provider in a women’s wellness clinic at Magnolia Health.

I love being part of a team that prioritizes helping and healing others, and I’m excited for all the growth and opportunities ahead. This environment continually challenges me, supports me, and allows me to continue learning every day.
