Meosha Davis shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Meosha, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Taking my daughter to school everyday
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Meosha Davis yet some people know me as “Mimi”. I like to consider myself a multifaceted creative professional. I’m a director, producer, and founder of The Affluent Agency and Enslow Drive Productions. My work blends storytelling and empowerment. I create content that highlights diverse voices and builds platforms that inspire women to own their confidence. What makes my brand unique is that it’s rooted in authenticity, culture, and representation. I’m currently focused on projects that are inclusive, and entertain while sparking real conversations.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a dreamer, and in some aspects I still am. I didn’t yet know about society’s labels or limitations, I just knew I loved creating, leading, and imagining bigger possibilities. Over time, I had to fight to protect that little girl inside me from being boxed in. Now, my work is about honoring her by creating spaces where others don’t have to shrink or compromise who they are.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized that silence wasn’t strength. For a long time, I carried things quietly, thinking it made me strong to hold it all in. But I learned that true strength is in owning your story. No one can shame what you embrace. Once I started sharing my experiences through my work, I realized my pain could be fuel…not just for me, but for others who see themselves in my journey. There is so much power in that.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The cultural values I protect at all costs are authenticity and community. In a world that constantly tries to tell us who to be, I believe it’s revolutionary to show up as your true self. That’s why representation and honesty in storytelling are so important to me because it ensures our culture is seen and celebrated, not diluted or exploited.
I was raised to believe that we don’t succeed alone. I’ve made it my mission to help whoever I can. I believe it is a blessing to be a blessing. You never know who’s going to be who in this business, so I try to treat everyone fairly never thinking or acting like I’m better than anyone. Everything I create, whether in film or in business, is about leaving the door open for someone else.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, role, and possessions, what would remain is my spirit, my faith, my resilience, and the love I give to others. Titles and material things come and go, but the way I make people feel and the impact I leave behind is what can NEVER be taken away.
