We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ms. Chauncia Jones. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Chauncia , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
As I prepared to transition my business into podcasting, I realized that strengthening my public speaking skills would be critical. I had a strong desire to become a better public speaker and communicator, so in December 2024, I searched online and discovered a local club that could help me reach that goal. When I walked into that first meeting, it was just me and two other people, who welcomed me with open arms. I enjoyed myself so much that I kept coming back, drawn by the tremendous amount of knowledge and support that helped me grow both personally and professionally. Before long, that small group of three grew into 23 members, and together we achieved the incredible milestone of becoming a chartered club. Recently, I was honored to receive a Founding Member certificate. It was a proud moment that reminded me that my personal goal of becoming a better speaker has connected me to something much larger and more meaningful.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Ms. Chauncia Jones, a creative entrepreneur, mother of four, and a passionate advocate for career development. With a professional background in Technology and Project Management, I built my expertise in Change Management, guiding organizations through complex IT transformations with clarity and strategy.
In 2020, amid the global pandemic, I launched InfiniteDirection, L.L.C., with a mission to provide resume-writing services and career guidance to women of color seeking upward mobility and advancement. What began as a focused initiative quickly evolved into the Infinite Dreamers Career Curriculum, a comprehensive career development program designed to equip youth and young adults with the personal and professional tools needed to enter the workforce with confidence, purpose, and impact.
Like many entrepreneurs who set out to address some of the most pressing challenges within our communities, I quickly realized that passion alone wasn’t enough; I needed to truly understand the business landscape. This realization propelled me on a journey of learning from industry leaders, both online and within my local community. That commitment to growth laid the foundation for the Girl, Get Up Podcast: Life & Times of an Infinite Dreamer.
What sets InfiniteDirection and the Girl, Get Up Podcast apart is the strategic value they deliver. The podcast not only inspires by serving as a beacon of hope but also equips listeners with actionable insights they can implement immediately. At the same time, it creates a platform for creatives, professionals, and entrepreneurs to amplify their brand stories, showcasing the wins, the lessons, and the transformative journeys behind the businesses shaping our communities. By weaving together inspiration and practical strategy, we empower audiences to dream bigger, aim higher, and translate their aspirations into measurable success.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As the second of five children, I naturally learned the value of selflessness and responsibility at an early age. With a single mother working tirelessly to provide, I often stepped into the role of caretaker, ensuring my younger siblings had what they needed in her absence. Those experiences shaped my character and sense of duty, but it wasn’t until later in life that I recognized the importance of balance, that it is not only acceptable, but essential, to set boundaries, prioritize my own dreams and goals, and focus on what truly matters without carrying the weight of guilt.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Have there been moments when I almost gave up? Absolutely. I set expectations for my business, and when those expectations weren’t met, I felt deep disappointment and questioned my own abilities. Despite having strong products and a supportive community, those efforts didn’t always translate into sales. That disconnect surfaced insecurities I didn’t even realize I carried, ultimately leading me to seek therapy as a way to rebuild both my confidence and my boundaries with others.
What could have been the end of my journey instead became a pivot point. My resilient spirit and creative drive pushed me to dig deeper, fueling a determination to learn as much as possible about business. That pursuit of growth not only restored my confidence but also opened the door to new opportunities and a new industry.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
One belief I hold firmly is that young people must be prepared for life beyond the classroom. Our education system often overlooks essential life and career skills such as financial literacy, goal-setting, and decision-making. Recognizing this gap, I designed the Infinite Dreamers Career Curriculum with a clear emphasis on practical application. The curriculum offers focused instruction in key areas such as career mapping, financial forms and payroll documents, and resume development. These tools equip students with the skills to accurately navigate, complete, and interpret essential materials, ensuring they are well-prepared for real-world employment
Our youth are our legacy, and it is our responsibility to equip them with the tools for long-term success and empower them not only to thrive in their own careers but to pass knowledge and opportunity to the generations that follow.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Through both my successes and my setbacks, one lesson has become undeniably clear: the transformative power of gratitude. I have learned to be grateful not only for the doors that opened but also for the ones that closed, because each experience offered its own gift. The challenges, disappointments, and unexpected turns were not failures but opportunities. Opportunities that pushed me to think more creatively, dig deeper within myself, and develop solutions I might never have discovered otherwise.
