An Inspired Chat with Murray Bolesta of Northern California

Murray Bolesta shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Murray, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Absolutely. I’m proud I didn’t act fast, because patience allows depth and perspective to emerge—both in life and in my art. Rushing often sacrifices quality, while waiting creates understanding. Patience lets me see meaning that otherwise I’d miss.. It’s a virtue that spawns creativity from observation.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Murray Bolesta, a fine art photographer proud to be eclectic! Delighting buyers worldwide since 2004, my work aspires to capture the genius of nature and humanity. Guided by an eco-aesthetic philosophy, my art invites my buyers to join me in the quest for preservation of our natural and cultural heritage.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom. Virtue is its own reward. Work is its own reward. That came from her history as a member of the Greatest Generation, having survived and thrived in the Great Depression years.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
No. Forbearance is required for success. Confidence in one’s work is part of this.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Bernie Sanders. He has unwavering belief in the enormous contributions of the working person, and the need to pursue equality, fairness, and inclusivity in our society for true growth in the quality of life for all people.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
It’s foolish not to have regrets. They’re instructive. It’s really never too late. I should’ve started a professional pursuit of my art & music much earlier.
