Novia Reid shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Novia , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of building a sacred, intentional, thoughtful, and warm pathway for women where they can say, “Wow, she thought of everything. She thought of me.” I’ve learned that we can underestimate how much effort and thought it takes to make links work or create a community for women, or a website, but so much goes into these things, from choosing the right photo to transparent pricing. No one sees the behind-the-scenes work, but it’s a joy to see everything unfold.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Sure! I’m Novia, a native of Jamaica, a follower of Jesus Christ, and a lover of travel and good food. I’m a licensed therapist with a PhD in marriage and family therapy and the founder of Regain Your Core®, a pathway for women ready to reconnect with themselves and rediscover their identities after trauma, heartbreak, or setbacks. Through a 30-day guided journal rooted in therapeutic wisdom, a self-paced course, a supportive community, or group and 1:1 coaching programs, women are given the space and tools to return to the truth of who they are. In this season, God has called me to focus on helping women reclaim the essence of who they are at their core, and that’s what makes this work sacred.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was during middle school when the wooden race car I’d built won first place. That was an important achievement and time for me because I’d struggled with being bullied, which caused me to feel insecure and shrink, so to have something I created win first place meant so much to me at a time I needed it without realizing it.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be, “I’m proud of you for still trying and never giving up when others mocked you for being bright, brilliant, and you.”
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is the real me, but there are parts of myself that are just private, meant for the intimate people in my circle and sacred moments in my life.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m living aligned with God’s will for my life and when I’m aligned with my values, purpose, and boundaries. I also feel most at peace when I’m rested, doing what brings me joy, and practicing holistic self-care.
