olivia D” eleia shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi olivia , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
They start with my cat. I wake up and take a moment to give thanks, and as soon as my cat senses that I’m awake, he comes to lie next to me. I spend the first half hour of my day cuddling with him, grateful to be alive. I try not to look at my phone and instead wake up slowly, without rushing. Then I get up, make my essential cup of coffee—something I need to enjoy without any hurry before breakfast. After that peaceful moment, it’s time to get moving and head out to work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Olivia D’Eleia, a Colombian actress and producer based in New York. My passion for the audiovisual world, acting, and collaborative work drives me every day to create and dream. I love developing projects with friends, whether in theater, film, or any space that allows my imagination to take flight. I always have an idea, a project in mind, and that makes teamwork a source of energy and joy for me.
I am inspired to encourage those around me to follow their passions, especially in the arts, and I am always willing to join their projects. This collaborative spirit has been key to my growth as an artist: it has allowed me to perform in incredible productions, learn from other talented individuals, and constantly enrich myself through their creativity.
In short, Olivia D’Eleia is a passionate artist, committed to creating in community, with the belief that art calls us to endure, to create, and to express what lies within us—even in times that challenge us as artists.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling truly powerful was when I started playing volleyball at 12. From the very first moment, I felt a spark within me, a deep certainty that I could become a great player. I threw myself into training with passion, discipline, and daily effort, constantly pushing my own limits. And when I finally made it onto the starting team, a wave of empowerment washed over me—I realized that with dedication, focus, and belief in myself, there is no goal I cannot achieve.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to always follow her passion, without stopping, trusting that life has a way of guiding you to where you truly want to be. To strengthen her mind and carry her passion with clarity, discipline, and emotional support, so that when challenges arise, she can confidently find her way back. And above all, to trust that there are always angels around—people and moments that will accompany and support her every step of the way.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
In our industry, there is often the belief that talent is tied to beauty—the idea of perfect women and perfect men that we’ve been sold as the standard. But the truth is, talent goes far beyond physical appearance. Even though things are slowly changing, beauty and follower numbers still often carry more weight than true experience and potential.
I believe it’s important to remember that every person has a unique value. Creativity, passion, and dedication don’t depend on how you look, but on how fully you commit to your art. Every effort, every story, and every authentic talent deserves recognition—and that is where the true strength of our industry lies.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
