An Inspired Chat with Rania Stone

Rania Stone shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Rania, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
What surprised me most about our guests is how naturally they’ve become a community. Many arrive calling themselves introverts, yet through reading and sharing stories, they open up, connect, and build friendships that continue well beyond the retreat.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Rania Stone, a psychological thriller author and co-founder of Imagine Greece Retreats. I come from Amorgos, and being Greek, I see every retreat as welcoming guests into my home. I’ve just finished my eighth novel and can’t wait to begin the next one. What excites me most, though, are the retreats themselves. I love the world of literature and the people it brings together. Even as an introvert, these gatherings push me out of my shell and remind me how powerful stories are in creating genuine connections.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed that doing well in school and getting good grades was the key to succeeding in life. Now I know that success has little to do with grades—it’s shaped by determination, creativity, and the skills we develop along the way, far beyond the classroom.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self: You are the sun, not the moon. You can shine on your own and achieve so much more than you think.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The cultural values I protect at all costs are integrity, love, and kindness. They guide the way I live, host retreats, and connect with people—because without them, nothing meaningful lasts.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as a genuine person—someone who didn’t judge and always tried to help others in any way I could.
