An Inspired Chat with Scoop Johnson of Dallas

We recently had the chance to connect with Scoop Johnson and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Scoop, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am definitely walking a path. Life can be challenging sometimes so anyone could end up wandering. I just try to take it one day at a time and remain focused on achieving my goals.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am OG Scoop, I am from Dallas, Tx and I make music. I am a rapper/recording artist. You can find my music under the name “FamGang” on all streaming platforms and YouTube. I have projects out right now on all major streaming platforms and I have more coming soon.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was always just myself, I’ve always been full of confidence. I’ve also always stood on what I believed in especially when it comes to morals and principles. The world showed me who I had to be at an early age but I didn’t choose to let that shape the person I am overall. I always try to stay true to myself.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering at certain moments in life definitely taught me how to stay resilient. I learned to how stay focused and determined even though troubled times had often occurred. Suffering teaches you how to gain strength through certain times and to remain level headed. I try to always be never too high and to be never too low, success doesn’t teach you how to overcome but suffering does if you go about it in a positive way.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is indeed the real me. I try to stay away from displaying a persona or playing into a certain character. I always try to authentically remain true to myself at all times. You might get different versions of me when meeting me depending on the mood at the time, but it’ll always be the real me I’m displaying.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
There isn’t a specific story I want people to tell about me when I’m gone honestly. I want the hard work and achievements throughout life to tell the story for me when I’m gone.
